Stephen Colbert reenacts Palin’s version of Paul Revere’s ride — on a plastic horse
Source: Rawreplay
By Kase Wickman

Stephen Colbert used “The Colbert Report” Monday night to definitively verify Sarah Palin’s claim that Paul Revere’s historic midnight ride involved “ringing those bells” and firing shots to send the British a message about Second Amendment rights, as she said on June 2.

The only way to go about proving Palin’s story, of course, by hopping on a mechanical horse with two powderhorns of gunpowder, a front-loading musket and a handbell and attempting to use all three things at once while riding the bucking steed.

“Prepare to eat historical reenactment!” Colbert said as he climbed onto the horse.

Watch the clip below, originally aired on Comedy Central on June 6, 2011, embedded via Hulu

5. FYI. Don't watch this on your laptop in the bathroom while trying to brush your teeth.
I was cracking up and just dribbled toothpaste all over my shirt.

7. Lynx's spin
Listen, my children, and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
He said to his friend, “Should Palin approach,
By foot, by plane or by motor coach,
Then give me the signal and I’ll spread the word
To rational folks, that this twittering bird,
Is drawing too close, to give her own spin,
On events long past, with a simpering grin,
Then stamp down her foot and tell us she’s right,
And if we don’t agree, she is starting a fight
With scholars, historians, people who think,
She won’t give an inch; she will go to the brink
Of absurdity, trying to prove she’s correct
Although what she says happened, you can’t recollect!”

Now, history tells us, Revere was no wuss.
Two lights in the tower? “She’s coming by bus!”
He leapt on his steed, and took off with a shout,
“Palin is coming! Her words, you must doubt!”
With a thunder of hooves and a great show of force,
O’er Palin’s bus flew Paul Revere and his horse!
Palin let out a shriek and fell into a swoon
As the horse and Revere then flew over the moon.
If you feel what I say is a bit too inedible,
Keep in mind: Palin’s version is far more incredible.
For when all’s said and done, there’s one thing I’ll confess:
That Paul Revere rocks! But Palin’s a mess.

8. How can anyone be so devoid of shame?
What is wrong with this woman? How can she continue making a fool of herself over and over, and not go away in shame?

Stormed the beach with bells around their necks. Hahahaha. Oh my god.
