Weiner needs to resign.
Radar Online has obtained a transcript of facebook conversations Weiner had with a female Las Vegas card dealer. ...It's not pretty (to say the least). Here's her last message to him, posted on June 1.

June 1st 2011

u owe me big time for keeping this all quiet…i am defending u to the death on every blog and
to everyone….telling everyone u would never send dirty messages to women
i know u haven't been on here since u were hacked but i NEED to talk to u…someone
contacted me about u…call me or something.

Read the rest and tell me that, if these exchanges are legit, and there are even more of them, he shouldn't be gone.

1. It's none of our business what he's texting, as long as the conversation is consensual.
There is not doubt about that from the text the card dealer sent.

The big "mistake" was Weiner's lying about it. That is far from enough to call for his resignation.

6. So you're cool with her saying this: "u owe me big time for keeping this all quiet"?
Who knows what else is out there. ...But this is enough for me. He's violated the public trust. Sorry.

39. He's a politician. They lie for a livin'. And if you're not satisfied with his performance as a
professional liar, then the appropriate time to give him the boot is at re-election time.

Remember, all he did was some inappropriate things and tell some fibs in his off time.
He didn't do anything all that horrible. There's kids in junior highschool that do such things on a daily basis.

In between lewd references to sexual activities and organs, he discusses his "job performance". This is fucked up in so many ways.

He's stupid, but America is full of stupid people...many of them in high places.

If voters in his district are unhappy with him, they'll have the chance to throw him out soon.

Rep. Weiner is an adult. Adults have sex. Adults do stupid things like take pictures & post them on the internet.

It's not like he went on a shooting rampage & killed people. :eyes:

Drive off a bridge in a drunken haze and kill a girl.

Yeah, that is something to aspire to.

I am glad the weiner did not do that, the bar gets closer to the ground.

40. It's not an aspiration it's an observation
This idiotic call for resignation proves that America is the Culture of the Mediocre. We have a tabloid mentality that puffs up minutia into some sort of grandiose issue that sends the rabble into an apoplectic fit.

Driving off a bridge and causing someone's death certainly sets a bar that would actually justify the discussion of resignation, being a douchebag online doesn't.

43. Just out of curiosity...
Do you think that AW gave up the ghost because his conscience bothered him or was he backed into a corner?

If he was backed into a corner what does that say about the next time he steps on it?

Look, I understand the wish to defend AW, I just don't like it on either side and it drives me to stare sternly at my cat.

31. I agree - sadly
A change of mind for me on this. The transcript is really bad and there is probably more on the way.

This conversation is not "illegal", but it opens the door to thinking that other acts to be revealed were illegal in some way.

Waiting for his constituents to pass judgement in 2012 just guarantees another year or so of this being topic 1 and hurting other Dems (including Obama) in the process.

Shumer has to give him the bad news so he can go "spend more time with his family." Or else go to see all his online acquaintances in person.
