Olbermann confirms he's hired David Shuster as his primary substitute anchor for his Current show

p.s. Wonder who else will end up over there with KO?
I was hoping Keith would put in a whole new line up over there, but I haven't heard of any new shows yet except for his own Countdown.

4. Excellent! I've really missed Schuster's reporting. If Current can

truly get an evening lineup together (Olbermann, Maddow, and let's give Schuster his own show, already), I'll stop watching MSNBC altogether.

5. Schuster had a couple of days filling in for Bill Press in the last few weeks.
I thought it was very good - he'd do a very good radio show.

I wish there was someone that would set up a Twit.tv type of podcast network for progressives - I still think that that is what Air America *should have* been instead of focusing on terrestrial radio.

7. And Cenk too.
Edited on Tue Jun-07-11 06:15 PM by Tx4obama
I think that MSNBC hasn't given Cenk a contract yet for a dedicated show, only a contract to be a contributor.
Cenk isn't listed on the MSNBC website.

I would LOVE it if Cenk moved over to Current TV with Keith.

Apparently Maddow and Keith haven't been talking since he left MSNBC, I'm hoping that they will talk just about the time Maddow's contract comes up for renewal ;)

17. it says here that Keith hasn't talked to Rachel since he left???
Olbermann also revealed that he has not spoken to Maddow since his departure from MSNBC.

"There were lots of people who were forced to choose sides," he said. "And particularly in Rachel's case, I didn't want to add to the pressure on her already. The last thing I need to do is be calling her up and saying, 'How's that Michael Steele working out for you?' Which is exactly what I would do if I were in the office." MSNBC, he said,

Keith Olbermann has a bombshell interview in the latest edition of The Hollywood Reporter. In the interview, Olbermann fully breaks his silence about his stormy exit from MSNBC, and reveals, among other things, that he is not talking to former protege Rachel Maddow anymore.

Olbermann left MSNBC in January, just months after he was suspended by the network for donating to three political candidates without first informing his bosses. He very publicly disagreed with this decision, and soon after, he and MSNBC mutually decided to part ways. Olbermann had always had a very tense relationship with the top brass at MSNBC—and, indeed, at just about every network he has worked at—and the situation had become untenable. He quickly jumped to Al Gore's Current TV, where his new nightly show, also called "Countdown," is debuting on June 20.

18. Doesn't surprise me. Given how Schuster was treated, Rachel
could get sidelined by MSNBC simply for being known to be in contact with KO--it might be interpreted as "interviewing", especially if someone wants to be rid of her.

14. Keith's new show on Current TV premieres on Monday June 20th
Edited on Tue Jun-07-11 09:08 PM by Tx4obama
There is a countdown clock on the right side of Keith's new blog web page:

http://current.com/shows/countdown/

p.s. Also there is a place toward the top left of the page to enter a zip code to find the station number in your area that will air the new show.
