ragging on Palin. It was hilarious. One guy asked were she lived on the map then asked if they had schools there.

Also, there was a mama musk ox and her baby sleeping out our shops back door this moring.

Got to it just in time. The bird's feathers were all gone from chest and back but wings were not broken. Should I catch and kill the bull frog?

9. I would say no, animals eat other animals. Maybe you should feed the bull frog
to make up for the meal you denied it.

A couple ounces of chicken seem about right to me, depending on the size of the bird we are talking about.

16. I always look at interfering with nature from both sides:
You either "saved" the bird or you may have contributed to the frog's early demise. Personally I would have left them to their own devices, but in my expirience I see way more birds than frogs so I'd have voted frog. Sorry bird.

36. No! There aren't enough frogs in the world.
Where I grew up there were millions of frogs. Now there are none. Cherish the frog regardless of...a bird? Holy cow that must be a big frog. I wish. I totally miss big frogs. You have to tell us where you live now.

50. North Carolina
It appeared that the frog (which was smaller than the bird) was trying to pull it underwater to drown it.

They really are noisy. When I am on the phone in the evenings people ask me what the strange noise is and they really do keep me awake at night this time of year. Unfortunately I am the one who decided to put a plant/fish pond just outside my bedroom window. I just did not realize I would get so many frogs.

Sitting here sipping my Brazilian cocktail while the spouse is tending to the chicken on the grill. We've got the early local lettuce and a nice saffron risotto. It's summer, and we've got a Netflix movie to watch later.

30. Could Conjoined Twins Share a Mind?

It was bedtime for Krista and Tatiana Hogan, and the 4-year-old twin girls were doing what 4-year-olds everywhere do at bedtime. They were stalling, angling for more time awake. Their grandmother, Louise McKay, who lives with the girls and their parents in Vernon, a small city in British Columbia, was speaking to them in soothing tones, but the girls resorted to sleep-deferring classics of the toddler repertory. “I want one more hug!” Krista said to their grandmother, and then a few minutes later, they both called out to her, in unison, “I miss you!”

~snip

Twins joined at the head — the medical term is craniopagus — are one in 2.5 million, of which only a fraction survive. The way the girls’ brains formed beneath the surface of their fused skulls, however, makes them beyond rare: their neural anatomy is unique, at least in the annals of recorded scientific literature. Their brain images reveal what looks like an attenuated line stretching between the two organs, a piece of anatomy their neurosurgeon, Douglas Cochrane of British Columbia Children’s Hospital, has called a thalamic bridge, because he believes it links the thalamus of one girl to the thalamus of her sister. The thalamus is a kind of switchboard, a two-lobed organ that filters most sensory input and has long been thought to be essential in the neural loops that create consciousness.

Read the story. It's a medical wonder.
