Those who call for Medicare for all here: Are you calling for everyone to have the option of
Medicare, or is it for Medicare to be the only provider of health insurance in the US?

1. I would like to have it as an option at a minimum
at least that would give some honest competition to the insurance companies.
Ideally, it would become the single payer program.

3. Personally I think they should simply remove the age retriction and let
anyone buy in with a sliding fee based upon income. At least that is how I would do it. Then the private insurers could keep going, and would perhaps be more competitive with their pricing. Some might not make it, but it would be gradual (I can only imagine the nightmare if private providers were outlawed by legislation). Would be a much easier sell to the American Public too I would think. Companies could gradually decide if they wanted to keep coverage on their employees - if they didn't the employees could choose to buy into medicare instead.

4. Medicare is NOT the care provider they are the payer

and if you want to keep your current insurance fine, and everyone has to option to buy commercial ins if they can afford it.
but the prices charged for health/medical care should be fixed/controlled so it cost the same for you as it does for so and so or me.

As is there are several different prices for folks, if you have an insurer behind you you get a different price for a procedure than someone who has to pay out of pocket has to pay 4x as much for instance.

6. yup and a vasectomy , or a mamogram on a fixed price list
instead of 300 for Mrs S who has medicare or commercial insurance and 800 if you don't have any insurance. That was a price quoted to me by a friend who had her insurance cancel her and hubbies on a bs charge that they lied on their insurance about something that was a simple oversight on their part it was several years ago I don't remember, but do remember thinkng that the difference between 800 and 300 was stupid and or greedy.

but I agree with those who advocate caution in use of the mammograms --

There are various kinds of cancers -- yeah, catching them "early" can mean something --

except that some are very fast moving and some barely move at all.

If you have the fast kind almost anything you do will be meaningless --

if you have slow moving, you have time.

Let's also be clear that everyone has thousands of cancer cells moving thru their

bodies at all times -- our problems are with our IMMUNE SYSTEMS.

And what might cause that?
