The Palin-Bachmann Fight We've All Been Waiting For
Michele Bachmann's top adviser Ed Rollins denounced fellow brown-haired Tea-Partying maybe-presidential candidate Sarah Palin as unserious Tuesday, offering maybe the first sign that the Palin-Bachmann spat so many have been waiting for is finally upon us. "Sarah has not been serious over the last couple of years," Rollins said on Fox News' Brian Kilmeade's radio show. "She got the vice presidential thing handed to her. She didn't go to work in the sense of trying gain more substance. She gave up her governorship."
Rollins then praised the work ethic of his boss. "You know, I think Michele Bachmann and others have worked hard. She has been a leader of the Tea Party, which is a very important element here," he added. Bachmann is "the one that intrigues me the most at this point and I think to a certain extent she's articulate, she’s a conservative. She's got a great story to tell. She's on the Intelligence Committee. You know, she's unknown to the national audience, but she'll become known and that's the candidacy that I'm going to work for if she runs."

Rollins attacked Palin for being flakey in December, a move many assumed was to help his old boss Mike Huckabee, whose 2008 campaign Rollings managed. Bachmann hired him recently as she's been gearing up to announce whether she's running for president this month, and Hot Air's Allahpundit wonders, "did Bachmann hire Rollins in spite of his criticisms of Palin--or because of them?" Allahpundit thinks Bachmann has politics that are too similar to Palin's, so she has to distinguish herself by her experience and personality. And Bachmann does need to distinguish herself: a new Gallup poll shows that Bachmann has better favorability ratings than Palin--who has high negatives--but the Minnesotan is not as well known. Still, since March, her name recognition has jumped from 52 percent to 63 percent.

You know Palin can't and won't keep her mouth shut
and will consider this an attack on her and Paul Revere.

1. as long as neither one of them
ends up president, i'm all for it. but they are an awful lot alike aren't they. inveterate liars and religious nuts. i don't know for sure that it's true but somewhere i read that bachmann reported that "GOD" told her to run for president. and we're supposed to take her candidacy seriously.

4. I Was Predicting This 5 Years Ago...
Not the individuals, but I saw the heavy right wing turn the GOOP had taken during the 90s and boooosh years and knew that eventually the moderates would be pushed out and all that was left was the unhinged. We started seeing the divide when the wingnuts started to identify themselves as "conservatives" rather than "republican" and the rising power of the fundies and "libertarian" (now known as teabaggers) in the primaries that opened the doors for the real goofies in that hive and have put this party in the mess it's currently in.

Bottom line is the only way to win the nomination is to cater to the illiterati of the far right in the primaries and then try to run back to the middle in the general. Right now that "middle" is way off the right wing scale and getting even further. Besides Romney, all the other "candidates" are batshit crazy or downright unhinged and its been a race to the bottom.

As we see here with some who will never be satisfied with anything this President or most Democrats do as good enough, it's amplified many times over in the other side of the sandbox. The other day I laughed reading the looming battle of the Freepers against Bachmann and their already big time contempt of Mittens and am sure they won't be happy with whomever wins the nomination. So what's a freeper to do? Stay home? Or will Grifterella's ego or Ron Paul jump the shark and play to those third party urges? It's gonna happen...I'm hoping the ultimate split happens in 2016...

11. Not true.
Their followers will listen to them, vote for them, support their policies once in office.

Your turning away won't even slow them down.

12. I didn't know Rollins was a looney.
A nasty, mean, rotten, dirty-fighting right-wing political adviser, yes.
But I did think the guy was smart.
Guess not.
