accepting of the McClurkin and Warren events, the slandering of a minority over sexual issues. The defenses of that rhetoric are on record here. It is simply disingenuous to stand by while millions of Americans are called unworthy of rights, called vampires by surrogates to Obama, while our families are dismissed and our equal standing under the law denied and then when some straight man gets a fraction of the negative attention delivered to gay people, begin a whine about why Americans care about sex. I mean, when the politicians say 'one man, one woman, Sanctified by God' and say gay people should never be allowed to sully the Sacrament, I never, ever hear a word about that, no straight OFA folks rush to announce that private lives are not public matters, no, in fact, the President and DuBois have been insistent that issues of sexuality are part of the public discourse, that they be presented in terms of strict, dogmatic, American evangelical values and terminologies. So it is just so odd to suddenly hear all of this shock that sexuality is an issue. The straight community makes it an issue all the time. They clutch the pearls when it splashes back on their own trousers, but when it is directed at teh gay, they are more than willing to explain that hate speech is useful, that it is just one song, a short prayer, that the pony will be delivered promptly. Just seems to me that the Straight Community is always focused on the sexuality of others, and that the 'liberals' in that community only speak against such tripe when it touches one of their own. When the typical anti gay crap is spouted, they have a million reasons why it must be acceptable. What's good for the gay goose is good for straight gander, that's what I think. Seems to me the President should be deriding Anthony for his affront to the precious Sacrament and that he should be explaining that he is a Christian, so he can not endorse such behaviors. That is what he does when GLBT rights come up. Why not now? If the point is really about caring for the institution of marriage, why no angst about Tony, or Edwards in terms of their sullying of the Sacrament? Where are the words against Arnold, Ensign, Vitter, any of them? Why is it that they are free to drag the 'Sacrament' through the gutter unquestioned? Why no speeches about being a Christian and defending marriage? The OFA crowd exits the Donnie McClurkin rally only to wonder out loud why sexuality is a politicized issue in America. Disingenuous and selective vision. The OFA endorsed the use of religious based attacks on Americans over sexual issues, in public, on stages, on TV, and with no motivation from teh gay, that is, the OFA rallies simply held us up for ridicule, no specific issue, they were not expressing a political disagreement, just spewing slurs and claiming God told them to do that. We did not send sext messages to anyone. We did not cheat on the spouses your crowd refuses to acknowledge. Just understand those who stood with the McClurkin shit without making noise just look stupid when they try to sound all tolerant and hip about sexuality. As hip as Rick Warren? How impressive.
