Is your Rep. on this list? Mine is and he got a piece of my mind this morning. Not just because I support Pelosi but because of the character of Shuler.

On Heath Shuler: "….a man who has found two careers in which his most remarkable accomplishment is consistently throwing the ball to the wrong team."

5. Ex-Member of The Washington Football Team
Shuler used to play football for the NFL football team in Washington (I REFUSE to use the racist name of that team).

He was, as I recall, quite unsuccessful as a member of that team.

6. He's a pretty nice guy, actually.

I went to college with him. I didn't know him well/well, but since I was friends with his predecessor, Andy Kelly, and because I worked on the newspaper staff, I ran in some similar circles.

Yeah, he may have run against Nancy and he's a conservative Democrat because of the area he represents, but he's actually a pretty nice guy.

Edited to add that he's neither dumb, nor was he that lousy a football player. At the University of Tennessee, Shuler gained national attention as one of the SEC's top quarterbacks. He held nearly all Volunteer passing records at the end of his career, although most of them have since been eclipsed by Peyton Manning. In 1993, he came in second in the vote for the Heisman Trophy.

7. It's tradition to have a challenger. It's not done seriously.

8. Maybe then you can ask him about
the Fellowship Foundation. You are the company you keep. Not to mention the subsidized housing he enjoys just two blocks from the capital. If he was smart he would have recognized what affiliating himself with the occupants of C-street would infer. If nothing else it puts his character into question.

15. I wouldn't ask him anything.
He's not my representative and I didn't know him all that well (as stated above).

I just remember that he wasn't the jerk-off he's being portrayed here.
