Does anyone know if this.......

5% cut the House is voing on is real, or is it some funny math. Example, were they scheduled to have a 5% increase,but are not accepting it, and now calling it a 5% cut.

1. Smoke and Mirrors

The US is on a CR right now because there was no budget passed in 2010.

Perhaps this is a commitment to promise not to request as much when CBO/OMB put a new budget together for the FY starting 10/1/11.

2. Interresting.....

Im doing a little digging myself. I've come across information that states the Dems already froze wages of staff in the last Congress. Also, they are saying this cut will save $35 million. But the tax cuts many of these same Reps negotiated for the richest added 6000b. I havent dug too deep into this yet, but it appears the Dems may lose yet another message war. Who the hell is in charge of Dem messaging???

Boner said this when Obama instructed his staff to make $100 million worth of cuts. Boner is now making $32 million worth of cuts, after fighting for tax cuts that will cost 600B.
