1. I'm not sure how they would get any short term financial gain
But they're doing an Atlas Shrugged on us, and have been for quite some time.

3. No one suggested it has to be short term financial gain.
If you look at the consequences in the long term of breaking the back of government regulation, you can see that a short term downturn would be an acceptable payment for what the future would hold.

4. Yes, political gains for the wealthy
always translate out to gains in at least the long run. I guess the only ones who got a short term gain were the ones who tried to sell the BS that the recession was over, so they could unload stock they picked up at rock bottom when Bushco screwed the economy royally.

6. I think the Koch's are filling offshore bank accounts for the right and the
more damage they cause they more they're getting. They'll go to any lengths to dismantle the country and hand it on a platter to them.

7. They had better be prepared to "fix" the economy fast
if they succeed. Oh wait, they did gain control of the House and can't do a thing. Humph.

13. Indeed . . . it is the option I would feel most comfortable selecting
or, perhaps, "Duh!"

8. They no longer rely of consumer demand in the USA for profit so they
don't mind unemployment here. Plus it fights inflation. Plus it hurts Obama.

9. The govt is the entity that ensures a level playing field.
They want to make it small enough to drown in a bathtub.

10. Well, they did promise - repeatedly -
Edited on Fri Jun-10-11 08:34 PM by madamesilverspurs
to do whatever they have to in order to prevent a second term for Obama. Between the Republicans in congress and those serving as governors, their utter disregard for the people of this country is horrifying. It makes me physically ill every time one of them uses the word "American" to justify their extremely unAmerican actions.
