Sarah Palin emails show concern about alcohol in Alaska governor’s mansion

As a mother of two teens, Palin was concerned about the alcohol stored in the liquor cabinet in the governor’s mansion, and suggested that it be stowed away in boxes.

“With so many kids and teens coming and going in that house, esp during this season of celebrationstt for young people — proms, graduations, etc, I want to send the msg that we can be — and “the People’s House” needs to be — alcohol-free,” she wrote to Erika Fagerstrom, the executive residence manager, on May 6, 2007.

1. Sounds like an excuse
Palin can't handle her liquor, so she blames the kids for needing it put out of reach.

14. I worry more about the friends than about my own...
... the friends seem more willing to snag a swill at someone else's house. My son wouldn't dare! Actually, he would just ask me if he could.

I know it's a big worry though for most parents. I'm lucky my son doesn't seem to be interested in weed or beer; he just has a mild video game addiction :-)

2. You mean the governor's mansion she rarely stayed in?
In fact in her first year's legislative session even the Republican state representatives wore buttons saying "Where's Sarah," because she was mostly in Anchorage or Wasilla charging per diem, for the entire family, food, travel, lodging.
And in her almost second year's legislative session she was in Juneau so seldom the Republican legislators openly compalained about her lack of presence and lack of leadership.


Her own party, in Alaska, while she was the elected head of her own party, accused Sarah of "lack of leadership."
