1. As a NYC native, I agree with his Brooklyn constituents

No, he shouldn't resign. There seems to be a major divide between NYC and the rest of the country. No, that doesn't surprise me at all. NYC is unlike any place else in this country.

13. Most of his constituents are from Queens
His district is an odd combination of parts of Brooklyn and, mostly, parts of Queens.

Interestingly, Brooklyn had a much higher percentage of people saying that he should resign than Queens (41-29).

16. Very interesting
in that Queens is more minority and immigrant, as in Korean. My husband is from Maspeth and his sister and niece still live there. We lived for 15 years in Middle Village. I guess those immigrants are more tolerant than the old Italian Catholics of Brooklyn.

18. Maspeth is in his district as is Middle Village
New York's 9th Congressional District is a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives in New York City. It includes parts of southern Brooklyn and south central Queens. In Queens, the 9th includes the neighborhoods of Maspeth, Fresh Meadows, Glendale, Howard Beach, Kew Gardens, Kew Gardens Hills, Middle Village, Forest Hills, Ozone Park, Ridgewood, Rego Park, Rockaway Beach, and Woodhaven. Its Brooklyn section includes Flatlands, Gerritsen Beach, Marine Park, Midwood, Mill Basin and Sheepshead Bay. It has been represented by Democrat Anthony D. Weiner since 1999.

4. By going into treatment, he has protected himself.
the situation indicates strong symptoms of sex addiction, he is reportedly asking for a leave of absence to seek treatment, therefore I don't think he can legally be fired for having a mental health problem.

6. Do you think so?
I think it might actually be the impetus for him to resign so he can focus on addressing his issues and repairing his relationship.

There is no one suggesting, I don't think, that he be "fired" but rather that he be encouraged to resign - which is already happening by some prominent Democrats.

8. I think it's a way of easing himself out. His statement says that this
will help him make a decision. So, for the first time, he's acknowledging that there IS a decision.

21. When are we going to start talking about the corruption of Clarence Thomas,
instead of Weiner?

Anthony Weiner did a really stupid thing, especially since he should have known that they (Repugs and their ilk) were laying for him in the tall grass, so to speak.

Rep. Weiner put the spotlight on the corrupt behavior of Justice Thomas. Shortly after, this whole bruhaha comes about, courtesy of that nasty little troll, Breitbart. Thomas, who probably lied in order to get his seat on the Court to begin with, is likely to affect my life more than anything Weiner did.

Yes, I think this whole thing is fundamentally to divert attention from Thomas's malfeasance.

7. Yes
Because he has become a comic figure. He will never be taken seriously. We need serious representatives.

Because he's dumb.
