Story of tragedy and hope for horse-loving family (Brimfield, MA)

A story of devastation and hope in the aftermath of the Massachusetts tornado. I hope Cajun gets his playfulness back. In the meantime, I plan on bringing supplies to the area (and stopping by Cajun's home...).

Cajun, a 9-year-old horse that survived the Brimfield tornado, is becoming a star, thanks to social and traditional media.

Cajun has his own Facebook page, “Help Save Cajun! Horse Injured in Brimfield Tornado.”

Yesterday, he munched carrots, in his stall at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, while his owners gave interviews. Cajun underwent surgery at Tufts Thursday night.

JoAnn Kass and Steven Bush, whose home was at 51 Paige Hill Road, Brimfield, have owned Cajun since November. They said the paint horse had a playful personality before the tornado traumatized him.

on edit: I have had several pets treated at Tufts Animal Hospital. The quality of treatment is amazing, but VERY expensive. I imagine the original estimate given by Tufts will be much higher.
