Horrible Lesbian Activists Held Me In The Ladies Room Against My Will!
Today the Daily Beast reports on a 2005 incident in which Michele Bachmann called the police when lesbian activists spoke to her in a ladies room.

A few dozen people showed up at the town hall for the April 9 event, and Bachmann greeted them warmly. But when, during the question and answer session, the topic turned to same-sex marriage, Bachmann ended the meeting 20 minutes early and rushed to the bathroom. Hoping to speak to her, Arnold and another middle-aged woman, a former nun, followed her. As Bachmann washed her hands and Arnold looked on, the ex-nun tried to talk to her about theology. Suddenly, after less than a minute, Bachmann let out a shriek. "Help!" she screamed. "Help! I'm being held against my will!"

Arnold, who is just over 5 feet tall, was stunned, and hurried to open the door. Bachmann bolted out and fled, crying, to an SUV outside. Then she called the police, saying, according to the police report, that she was "absolutely terrified and has never been that terrorized before as she had no idea what those two women were going to do to her." The Washington County attorney, however, declined to press charges, writing in a memo, "It seems clear from the statements given by both women that they simply wanted to discuss certain issues further with Ms. Bachmann."

As the above-linked story notes, just before Bachmann's ladies room encounter, she'd been exposed by the local press for hiding in the bushes to observe a gay rights rally at the Minnesota capitol building.

2. Lesbian activists have never held me against my will
in a ladies bathroom!

Then again, they wouldn't have to. They'd be invited to sit at my dining room table, drinking coffee and eating cookies, while writing letters and making signs.

5. Well, an ex-nun trying to talk to her about theology -- I can see how she feel imprisoned.
;-)

Maybe she'd feel better discussing theology while hiding in the bushes.

6. Sounds as if MB is not wrapped too tightly and is a drama queen also.
Seriously this person wants to be President and she gets frightened by lesbians trying to discuss theology with her?

7. But Bachmann is a major player now; everyone says so
And naturally, none of the somnambulent bulldogs of the Fourth Estate will exhibit the crashingly bad taste to, you know, ask Rep. Bachmann about this or any other episode from her career. No, they're all too enthralled with tales of 23 foster children and such. And she's NOT a flavor of the month, so stop saying that. Rep. Bachmann is a serious politician and credible candidate, not like Donald Whatshisname from last month. In fact, we don't even remember Donald Whatshisname anymore, and neither do you.

16. Everyone needs to call her office and demand that she release
the amount of time these children spent in her home.......

Was it one week, one year, more, less...........
She is making the 23 children a big deal so we have the right to ask about them.

Foster care is a great service to the community and should be applauded
however when you make it a political football then questions need to be asked.
She only held her foster care license for 7 1/2 years, hardly time enough to raise children.

I have known people that have done foster care and some have poured their heart and souls into it
while others were only in it for the money.

Stories like this only confirm my suspicion that I woke up in a bizarre alternate universe back in November 2000.

23. The sanest person in the GOP field of candidates
Wears magic underpants that he thinks will protect him from evil and believes that when he dies, he will get a planet to rule over.

The whole lot reminds me of a truck and bus production of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," except without the Jack Nicholson character.

24. While I love this story dearly (it happened just down the road from where I lived at the time), it
didn't keep her from getting re-elected. We can snerk about it all we want, but we need to turn it into action.
