Anthony Weiner Heckled At Press Conference: Hecklers Shout Obscenities (VIDEO)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/16/anthony-weiner-heckled-_n_878331.html

In announcing that he will resign from Congress on Thursday, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) was heckled as he addressed the media at a press conference in his New York district.

"I'm here again today to apologize for the mistakes I have made and the embarrassment I have caused," said the embattled lawmaker, who had become embroiled in an online sexual controversy. "Today I am announcing my resignation from Congress."

Cheers from some in attendance could be heard as Weiner announced he was stepping down from his post. My Fox NY relays what happened next as the New York Democrat continued making his remarks:

One man continued to heckle Weiner, making it hard to hear his speech. The man yelled "bye-bye pervert" and asked him about the size of his penis.

4. Rebuttal exhibit A
To anyone who thinks that this issue goes away with Weiner's resignation, or that all of a sudden, the Republicans will roll up their sleeves and get to the hard work of governance. Like a song by Journey, this will just go on and on and on and on . . .

7. The repubbies will get to work even harder to screw us all...
I never thought for a minute that Weiner's resignation would placate the insane fuckers, and the more the dems try to placate them, the insane fuckers view as a sign of weakness. No it won't end it will just become worse and worse.

6. H. Sterns' folks methinks
I am no fan of his. I thought the speech was done well, and seemed to come from the heart. He took responsibility, and didn't blame anyone. Hopefully he can get things corrected, and come back again in the future.

8. Stern has spoken out many times in support of Weiner and didn't think he should resign.
Still, they can't pass up a news prank.

Heard on NPR
...this morning that the heckler was one of Sterns people and not a constituent. Gotta whore for the media especially when a progressive voice is being silenced.

"Heckling Outburst Dominates Weiner Press Conference
Howard Stern Show stuntman nearly drowns out congressman's resignation speech.
By Josh Voorhees | Posted Thursday, Jun. 16, 2011, at 4:32 PM EDT
11 Anthony Weiner announced his resignation from Congress on Thursday, saying that the media circus surrounding his sexting scandal had become too much of a distraction for him to continue to serve.

Seconds later, Howard Stern Show contributor Benjy Bronk seemingly proved his point, heckling the departing congressman so loudly that he was nearly drowned out on multiple occasions.

Much of the heckling was inaudible, but among the comments that can be made out from the video of the New York City press conference are: “Bye-bye, pervert”; “Were you fully erect? The people demand to know”; “Are you more than 7 inches?”; and "Will you maintain your hot physique?".

It was not immediately clear if Bronk, who had yelled similar comments at Weiner’s last press conference earlier this month, was responsible for all of the heckling. (The Examiner, for one, credits the “pervert” comment to another, unidentified heckler.)" - from "The Slatest"

Too bad someone didn't escort this bozo out.

11. They Asked The Questions The Corporate Media Really Really Wanted To...
I had to laugh at Tweety's "indignation" about this whole thing while he salivates over every salacious detail. He's just pissed he couldn't ask those questions.
