"He's not my guy. He's your guy!"
Pat Buchanan on MSNBC about the Weiner resignation. Now far be it from me to defend Buchanan, but he's wondering why he is left to defend Weiner. I think he has a point that there is no loyalty in the Dem party.

I know, we're weinered out, and I've complained about the weiner posts too. But still, I think Buchanan has a point. The repugs wouldn't have done this to one of their own in a million years, even if laws had been broken. Why?

1. Show me a Republican Congressman's erect penis who's still in office
then we'll compare apples to apples. Until then, I think it's fair to say that the pics did him in.

13. No, his approval ratings went up after the
penis photo was released. So, were it up the American people, apparently a photo of an erect penis might even have enhanced his chances of remaining in Congress.

So, to whom was this such an important issue again?

4. Buchanan is defending Weiner?
What is he saying? Every so often Buchanan has sense.

7. Just that the guy deserved to be defended by his own party
He even used himself as an example, and explained how he defended Nixon, even though Nixon did "some bad things." LOL. Is that as critical of Nixon as he has ever been publicly? He seemed genuinely perplexed by the Dems lack of loyalty.

8. It's good when we put justice ahead of party loyalty.
But this isn't one of those times.

6. The Wing Nuts Get To Stay...
And break every damn law they wish. They can ring their hookers from the floor of the Senate and they KNOW the leadership will not be pushing out one of their own.

Barack, I admire you but you should have kept your damn mouth shut! The Speaker of the House remained silent about Anthony as he did not want the spotlight on him.

The pathetic "leadership" gets spooked that someone is upset by something and then underneath the tires their fellow member goes! Damn pansies. When they were calling for his resignation, I immediately contacted the DNC and told them I will NOT be supporting any of the congressional campaigns.

Interesting that I have received multiple calls for donations since then. Believe me I told them EXACTLY how I feel!

9. Perspective...
They did cut Trent Lott loose. As for Vitter.. who really cares about a rep who puts his name on a few bills and shows up to vote?
I and some other Democrats feel betrayed by Weiner. He was on talk shows regularly as a spokesman for an agenda I favor. I know some believe some Democrats wanted to silence him, but they actually might feel like me. Sad to see him lose credibility because he was good at speaking truth to power.
I like the way he voted, but I no longer want him on the national stage on my behalf as a Democrat. Especially talking about anyone else lying.

12. Tomorrow morning I am calling the DNC
Edited on Thu Jun-16-11 06:07 PM by fredamae
I will still support the Dems, but the Dems I choose. I will do that independantly and personally. I will support Sen Sanders because He actually represents me and I am not a constituent.

I am done supporting Dem Org$ until they start to follow Our Mission Statement.

14. Agree on Sanders
and it is discouraging how the Dem leadership completely ignores their base time and again. Really, it seems to be an obsession with them.
