From a Florida Republican - "Things are worse than you may think"
Things are worse than you may think
Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 12:00 am (Updated: June 12, 12:02 am)
By Nancy Argenziano

Make no mistake: This is not about liberals vs. conservatives — or Republicans vs. Democrats; it’s about what is right and what is wrong. The legislation and policies of the governor and legislative leadership are wrong.

It’s about shouting a warning to Floridians that their elected leaders are selling them down the river, saying one thing, but doing another.

In my 16 years in the Florida House, state Senate and Public Service Commission, I have tried to inform people about what was going on in their government and provided the inside scoop that political leaders did not want you to know about. I have been warning for years, and providing examples of our representative government/democracy being sold to the highest contributors, the slush funds, the corruption — that it really is about money.

Much, MUCH more: http://www.chronicleonline.com/content/things-are-worse-you-may-think

This is well worth the read - she details how the current crooks in Florida government are selling out the people and destroying the state.

Argenziano is an old style Republican who believes that government should be responsive to the voters. From an article written when she was named to the Public Service Commission by Charlie Crist:
Argenziano, who has served in the Legislature since 1996, has been a fiery iconoclast in the Legislature.

Most famously, she had a bag of fertilizer delivered to a lobbyist on the other side of a battle over nursing home regulations in 2001.

She reflected her rural district's conservatism on issues such as gun owners' rights, but bucked Gov. Jeb Bush repeatedly on issues including education and the former governor's efforts to intervene in the death of Terri Schiavo.

In a Legislature filled with millionaires, Argenziano was one of the only lawmakers who made her legislative job her only vocation, traveling hundreds of miles regularly in a sprawling district that stretches from Marion and Citrus counties in the south to just outside of Tallahassee and Jacksonville in the north.

I can only hope the new brand of Republicans will piss off enough of the traditional ones that they will revolt and split their party to pieces!

5. Comment wasn't directed to you as much as the republican in the article
Sounds like voter remorse.

Between Wisconsin, Florida and Ohio, I don't know which one elected the worst governor, they are all three running on the same corporatist agenda, giving it all away to their cronies.

PSC's Nancy Argenziano resigns, endorses Alex Sink, bashes Rick Scott

TALLAHASSEE — Public Service Commission Chairwoman Nancy Argenziano resigned from the board Tuesday and endorsed Democrat Alex Sink, saying she had to speak out to prevent the "noxious mix" of a Republican-led Legislature with GOP candidate Rick Scott as governor.

Argenziano, a Republican and former state senator from Crystal River, launched into a tirade against the lawmakers whom she accused of currying favor with the "$43 billion regulated industry."

"I'm terrified if Rick Scott becomes governor of this state because there is no balance," said Argenziano, an outspoken critic of the Legislature's influence on the state's utility board.

This lady has long fought for consumers and for her constituents. I may disagree with some of her political stances, but I do think she is a committed public servant - rather than one of the new style RepubliCONS who are only out to line their pockets.

6. I live in Florida and I have not found one person who likes Scott. Even
republicans have told me he is bad.

Why doesn't Florida have a re-call?
