Surrendering the "middle ground"...
When the two Parties start talking about cutting Medicare and Social Security and other programs that help people, they are not looking for compromise or bi-partisanship, they are looking for surrender by the Democratic Party. They are not looking for any "middle ground".

Because Medicare and Social Security are the "middle ground". It took many, many decades to find this middle, after centuries of exploiting workers, slavery, low wages, no regulations, dangerous and unsafe working conditions, etc, all for the sake of profit for the few, it was finally determined that the wealthy should not have all the wealth. It should be distributed to the people in a more fair and equitable way. The people that created the wealth deserved a bigger share of the pie. That is the middle ground. That is why we have Medicare and Social Security and other social programs.

Now they want to give it back? They are not seeking compromise or "bi-partisanship". They are seeking surrender.

1. 5th rec. The Dem leadership has moved so far Right it's turning into yesterday's GOP.
Excellent point. Bi-partisanship from the right always moves further right.

Moving forward.

Hell today's Democrats are even to the right of Reagan on many issues..America is showing the signs of it as well. Decay in every area.
