As the article says, we need to get out the vote and take the primary seriously (mid summer).

The real "fake Democrat" threat: crossover voters

................

1. Republicans install Republicans running as Democrats with successful nomination papers (already done, except the papers arel being reviewed by the Government Accountability Board, which is likely to accept them).

2. Democrats are forced into a primary, theoretically running against someone else in their own party but really running against a not-well-known or serious Republican, whom under ordinary circumstances they should easily beat.

3. However, Republican voters, activated by concern they'll lose a state Senate majority, come out in droves for the Democratic primary and cross over to vote for the fake Democrat. ...........................

1. Then democracy loses in WI.
Of course, it depends on the overall outcomes of all races.

2. A better strategy would have been
to run Democrats in a Republican primary and make enough of the Republicans stay on their own side of the ballot. The party didn't want to be seen as stooping to such an underhanded tactic, and justifiably so, because it's a good talking point against the other side. But if we were perfectly clear that we were forced into doing this in self-defense, and would never have done so if the Republicans hadn't gone there first, I believe the voters would have understood.

3. This was discussed at our county membership meeting last night.

The state party was there and OFA were there. We are treating the primaries and generals for the recall as 2 separate elections that require our full resources. OFA has dedicated ALL local (and some national) resources to helping with these recalls. This is important. We need to GOTV like never ever before.

I encourage everyone who is able to help these fine candidates: http://www.wisdems.org/candidates

And keep helping.

5. We saw how the Repugs came out to vote for Prosser in the April
5 SC election. I think I was living in a bubble with the protests and all. They ARE OUT THERE LYING IN WAITING TO COME TO THE PRIMARIES AND ELECTION IN AUGUST. THAT I KNOW.

7. Yes they are. This is the most polarized place in the country right now.
So many on DU can't understand how Republicans could still succeed here, but it's simple- they vote. Walker's approval rating is EIGHTY-SEVEN PERCENT with Republicans and NINE PERCENT with Democrats. The GOP wins national awards here for voter turnout.

We need to get our asses in gear and get out the vote like never before.

8. Then that person should be recalled (again), and possibly face fraud
charges.
