AARP Denies Social Security Position has Changed, yet is Willing to Consider Cuts
Edited on Fri Jun-17-11 01:40 PM by jtown1123
Let's be clear. AARP can't claim you don't want Social Security part of the budget conversation then inject it straight into the budget conversation with an exclusive Wall Street Journal interview in the same breath. They aren't stupid or inexperienced. The article clearly states they cleared this with their board and are launching town hall meetings. This is an orchestrated campaign. They can cry they were misquoted all they want but the facts are the facts.

Even Policy Director David Certner told CNN Money they would consider raising the retirement age.

3. I dropped AARP years ago when they colluded with the Bush administration
In the same fashion on the prescription drug give-away to big pharma.

AARP just wants to sell you insurance and solidify their political position.
