1. So should we drum Obama out of the party, too?
He has an identical position on same-sex marriage.

7. And, this isn't about Obama's bigotry
It's about Assemblyman Hikind's bigotry. A Democrat who is voting to not allow gay marriage in New York. A Democrat who does not stand for full equality under the law. A deeply bigoted Democrat.

12. Yes
If his position stays the same before the eve of the 2012 election. He has time to change his position. Your move, Obama. I hope he does the right thing. We'll see.

16. Can you imagine..... a major speech by Obama.....
I was wrong.... I apologize.... Everyone deserves equal rights.... DU would certainly become a more pleasant place.

17. I don't care what it makes DU.
But it is a speech that needs to be made. It will earn Obama some major props from me.

9. Hikind's not the problem...
The Democrats have always had more than enough votes in the Assembly for Marriage Equality. The REAL problem is Democratic State Senator Ruben Diaz, Sr., who's been belligerently hostile to gay rights.

10. ANOTHER example of a Democrat who should be run out of the party on a rail
He's nothing but a bigot. He hides behind his "Reverend" credentials, but he's a grade-A bigot.

14. No, I'm pointing out the fact that there are some Democrats
who we would be better off without. That not every Democrat is better than every Republican on every issue. That bigotry is alive and well within the Democratic party.
