Dick Durbin Supports Debt Commission Plan
"I believe that politicians on the left and the right, Democrats and Republicans, have to acknowledge the depths of crisis our nation faces," said Durbin. "When we borrow 40 cents out of every dollar we spend, whether it is in the Pentagon or for food stamps, that is unsustainable. And being indebted for generations to China, OPEC and other nations around the world will not allow us to build a fairer and just America."

8. Won't stop 'em
The Catfood Commission, despite blowing its deadline, not following its rules, and never issuing a final report, will be used as cover for "bipartisan" deficit reduction measures. Those will land disproportionately on those who can least afford them, such as lower benefits for future social security beneficiaries and the already-passed tax increase on the lowest income Americans.

Millionaires on the hard right and center right agree: Deficit reduction can only happen if the United States decides it can't pay back all the money it plundered from the social security surplus. We've been busy shoveling all that money into the pockets of the overrich, and they aren't inclined to pay any of it back. So that just leaves the working stiffs, whose labor and payroll withholdings created the surplus in the first place.

And the wealthy get to party on for another two years! Isn't that nice for them?

9. The super rich only own 20% of everything. It's not like they own 80% of everything.
Yet.

have come to terms with the reality that this party is completely controlled by the ruthless DLC.
