Hoping for health care man robs bank for $1.
Edited on Sun Jun-19-11 04:31 PM by SharksBreath
Unbelievable. Man hands note to teller requesting only $1. Then tells the teller he will sit right here on the bench and wait for the police. All for Medical care. He has a growth in his chest 2 ruptured disks and a bad foot.

He figures when he gets out he can collect SS.

1. Why bother retiring and collecting SS after prison?

This guy has a future as a financial planner, if you ask me.

13. Yes, and he is one of the first who would be able to understand finical
planning from the viewpoint of the poor. I went into a bank once for advice. They took one look at my income and told me they could not help me.

2. A few years ago a man did something like that out here
Edited on Sun Jun-19-11 04:39 PM by SoCalDem
He robbed a 7-11 of about $20..and told the clerk he would "be waiting outside" for when the cops came..

He has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and had no job, no insurance, and had been turned down for medicaid.. He was too young for social security, and had no family nearby to help him.. so he got himself arrested..

I never did find out how it all worked out for him..

6. Years ago, in our public library, on cold nights
we'd have a homeless person in a wheelchair come in, make a scene, and then wait for the cops to pick him up and bring him in for the night.

God Bless America.

9. I saw that story and almost posted it myself.
It's such a sad thing that we can't give health care to people like him who have to resort to desperate measures to be taken care of.

10. Doesn't surprise me.

I've sort of expected cases like this to happen more frequently as time goes by and more people find themselves unemployed/underemployed without access to affordable health care. Sad.

11. clearly the answer is to stop providing health care to prisoners
then this sort of thing wouldn't happen. Sensible, right?
