1. Tidbit of personal history
Re. that 1975 wife can have credit cards in her own name. I married in 1974. What did women do before that law? You got credit cards before you married and kept them after marriage in your MAIDEN name. Why not?

4. You left out parts:
1. arranged marriages
2. marriages as means of land holding and land transfers
3. marriages as for the elite, only relevant to them
4. women as property of their fathers before becoming property of their husbands (only the latter part had been noted)
5. divorce via annulment at the whim of churchmen
