Happy PRIDE Week. How is your local LGBT community celebrating?
I wish to wish all my LGBT and straight friends a Happy PRIDE Week. This being San Francisco, I don't need to tell you how we are celebrating. Where are you and how is your local community celebrating?

2. SF Has probably the best Pride Parade in the world
Not only is it funny, awesome and big - - but as of late it has become a family event. Lots of families, lots of life lessons - and a great occasion for your kids to learn a little bit about Democracy and Freedom.

3. Well, the Castro is not what it used to be
It's now a upper-middle class neighborhood where same-sex families are raising children, complete with a Pottery Barn. :)

5. Yep. I remember when 'Polk Street' was the gay grotto
It still is, but definitely moneyed gays

And I remember a time when South of Market meant cheap live-work lofts, nowdays starting in the $1mil...

I think the only bay area cities with affordable housing are Hayward and East Palo Alto. Even Oakland is getting expensive.

And this is with reduced prices!

Oh, and there are all those Daly City seacliff homes, but caveat emptor as erosion is quicker than markdown

4. We are having a rally
outside of Brownback's office with Dan Choi then to Wichita for the big Pride parade where he will be Grand Marshall. There is also a party on Wednesday when he gets here.

6. Pride Weekend just concluded at Waterfront Park
Nice video and report from one of the local stations. Walked in the parade with the Community of Welcoming Congregations, and representatives from over 100 other churches, synangogues, temples, meetings, and faith communities. A grand time was had by all, and for some reason, the fundy nitwits gave us a pass this year.
