Undecided (R) NY Senator Ball soliciting opinion about marriage equality on FB
http://www.facebook.com/ball4ny

Apparently he wants to see how the wind blows before committing to vote one way or the other. "Like" him, then leave a message in support of marriage equality if you do indeed support marriage equality for NY.

2. He's not actually undecided: he's said he's voting against it.
This is grandstanding to look like he's listening to public opinion.

A much more likely pickup is the actually undecided Senator Mark Grisanti (R-Niagara Falls).

3. What about Staten Island and Long Island?
Neither place is a hotbed of conservatives. Ever been to the Huntington Pride Parade?

5. It's pretty much party line right now.
All the Dems but one are (Bronx) for it, all the Reps but two (Rochester and Renssler/Saratoga) are either against it (most of them) or undeclared (a couple). So far none of the Reps from Long Island have stepped up and expressed support.

4. Interesting post on the page:
"Senator, when you were quoted as saying your father would stop speaking to you if you voted for this bill, I counted you out."

7. Imagine if that Senator actually WERE gay?
His father is a disgrace, as is Diaz with his lesbian daughter. Too many hateful people in the country. Thought my beloved home state of NY had fewer. Apparently, not.
