It's as if we never learned anything from the Stanford Prison Experiment or the Milgram Experiment. Over and over again, the "banality of evil" (or as I would like to say, the evil of banality) strikes our history time and time again, with the same results. My Lai, Abu Gharaib, Gitmo, Rwanda, etc...

The book, written at a time when the world was still reeling from the Nazis, showed not a man of deep hatred, but the ultimate beaurocrat who was "just following orders." Further studies of the trial showed that Eichmann did indeed have anti-semitic tendencies, but it still does not detract from the fact that Eichmann took pleasure in the death of millions as a "job well done."

Did we learn our lesson? No - and the countless predator drone strikes and board-room decided killings attest to that.

I could see this as a great movie that would make us all think; not just about ourselves but the world we live in.

And if you haven't read the book, check it out.
