The suspect in the Dodger Stadium beating was ordered back to prison Monday to serve 10 months on a parole violation.
After an hours-long hearing, Deputy Commissioner Ali Zarrinnam ruled that Giovanni Ramirez, 31, violated the terms of his parole by being a felon with access to a weapon. Police found the gun during a search warrant served as part of the investigation into the beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow.
Ramirez has been described by Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck as the prime suspect in the Dodger Stadium beating on opening day. No charges have been filed against Ramirez in that case.
Earlier this month, the parole commissioner ruled there was not enough evidence to hold Ramirez in connection with the March 31 beating. But he found probable cause to revoke Ramirez's parole on the charge of being a felon in possession of a gun. Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department allegedly recovered the items inside a home where he was living. But on Monday, Zarrinnam amended the charge to being a felon with access to a weapon.
