Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker To Cut Medicaid Without Public Hearings
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2011/06/20/248741/wisconson-governor-scott-walker-to-cut-medicaid-without-public-hearings/

Republicans argue that states are the “laboratories of democracy” that should be charged with developing new, innovative ways for delivering quality health care more efficiently. But that point is far harder to make in the face of Gov. Scott Walker’s (R-WI) effort to shut the public out of a debate about Medicaid cuts and shield legislators from having to weigh in on cutting benefits and services for the neediest Americans:

The new state budget bill grants broader power to Gov. Scott Walker’s administration to remake BadgerCare Plus and other state health programs with little legislative oversight, a situation that worries advocates for the roughly 1 million people covered by those programs.

The major question: how the governor’s Department of Health Services will use that authority as it cuts a projected $466 million in costs from the programs over the next two years.

“We don’t know exactly what will be coming down the pike,” said Bob Jacobson, a spokesman for the Wisconsin Council on Children & Families. “And we don’t know how we can have a voice in those decisions when the Legislature has been taken out of the picture.” <...>

1. I believe that this man is evil. Not just a raving hypocrite, but geniunely evil.
..He's another one of those right-wing Koch whores that hears voices and acts upon what those voices tell him...For the good citizens of Wisconsin I hope his recall is successful..

4. he's an Ayn Rand disciple.
To me, her code of selfishness as good and empathy is bad, is pretty much my definition of evil.

5. I believe he's evil.
What I don't get is why are the Republicans giving up all the power to this man? What does he have on them? Maybe a better question, would be how is he going to stop the recall elections, because you know that's what him and his Repuke cronies are looking at next.

Hell, maybe they've been looking at a way to declare some kind of bogus emergency where he places Wisconsin under martial law! And don't say they can't or won't do it, look at the Wisconsin Repukes up to now...they've been passing every bill that Walker supports as long as he is given all of the power...

I think the people of Wisconsin are slowly going to be losing their rights and with a picked state Supreme court, it won't be long before they become the first experiment in the use of "States Rights" to promote or create a facist state government!!!

6. How this man went undetected as a sociopath so far into his life...
amazes me. Most thieves and sociopaths have spent some time in jail by the time they reach his age.

This guy seems to have been popular enough to get elected Governor? This amazes me.

He is a dictator, no question about it. He probably has committed several state and federal felonies in the actions he has taken so far in office. I guess the people of that state have to wait for next January to get rid of him? Let's hope they do.

Let's hope he faces some federal and state felony charges after that and gets to spend some time in a prison, which is where grand larceny sociopaths like him belong.

9. I bet he did. I'd really like to read a candid biography of this man..
Edited on Tue Jun-21-11 04:11 PM by JAnthony
starting from a very early age. How he was as a kid, a teen, a college guy. How he got into political life.

He sounds like some Hitler in the making. Fortunately for the USA and the wonderful progressives and union members and supporters in WISC, he will NEVER get any further in political life than where he is right now, and HOPEFULLY, within 8 months, he will see the brilliant flame in his political life go out for good.

Unless, of course, he rises from the politically dead zone of former leaders, like Sarah P, or Newt G.

Those folks all wind up on Fox News as their final last hurrah.
