What does LulzSec want? Hack of Arizona computers offers clues.
From Christian Science Monitor:
LulzSec has gained renown on the Internet for hacking the websites of governments and major companies with grin. But their hack of computers in Arizona points to political motivations.

The hackers known as LulzSec, who have recently brought down websites for the CIA and US Senate with the panache of merry pranksters, selected a new target Thursday night, and in the process offered a glimpse into the mysterious group's possible motivations.

In breaking into computers belonging to the Arizona Department of Public Safety and releasing internal documents detailing law-enforcement activity in the state, LulzSec seemed to leave no doubt about why Arizona was on its hit list.

"We are targeting AZDPS specifically because we are against SB1070 and the racial profiling anti-immigrant police state that is Arizona," the group said in a statement, referring to the controversial Arizona law, currently under legal review, that forces police officers to ask for immigration papers of people they think might be illegal immigrants.

1. At a guess, to be touched by a woman
However since that is unlikely, probably just continue on their puerile parade of online vandalism and theft.

I heard about it. I understand they say they are merely trying to highlight the insecurity of the system and specifically corporations etc. that claim to be safe financial sites. The person who was talking to me asked one question: Would you rather have the weakness exposed by a group like this who did not use the info they collected or find out after some one used your information and the company did not inform you until it was too late?

I had to admit that I doubted the corporations would tell me if they were no longer secure or that my economic info was not safe on their site anymore.

I personally do not know if this is the case but it could be since they are not demanding anything else.

This Arizona thing seems to be in a different catagory than the Ebay, etc. hacking. I am actually LOL about this one. Couldn't happen to a better state.
