... be allowed to vote?"

On I-5 in Washington, there's a 2-sided billboard that always carries the whackiest RW bullshit you can image.

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/6002

Coming thru there yesterday, I saw the little gem quoted above.

This is in a county with tons of residents on SS, Medicare, food stamps, workers comp, etc....

This is in a county that gets back $1.33 in government money for every dollar they pay in taxes.

Jeeeezus Keeerist!

4. Oh, I know that billboard well.
Been there for about 50 years I'm guessing, and yes, the RW wackiness knows no bounds. At this point, or so I'd be inclined to think, the "farmer" who puts up the messages has been on SS/Medicare for quite awhile now. Which would make him a recipient of entitlement funds. Which would mean he wouldn't be allowed to vote, under his view of things. Maybe his heirs are keeping up the family tradition. Ah, well, his screwy quips are always good for a chuckle for those driving up and down I-5. I know they are for me. I'll be heading that way in a couple of weeks, which means I'll have a few moments of amusement while on the road.

5. I don't even understand how people whom break the law
can lose their constitutional voting rights (or not have them automatically reinstated when they get out of prison).

6. Just bloody wow
Spitting in the face of all our ancestors who fought for universal suffrage.

In the UK, the abolition of property qualifications for voting was a long-drawn-out process, starting with a partial reduction in 1832, ending with complete end of such qualifications for men in 1918, though it took 10 more years for women.

I don't know the history in the USA, though I know some states had the 'poll tax' till it was declared unconstitutional.

Anyone who wants to reverse this fight is disgusting!

7. This guy is a whackadoo
I've long wanted to buy adjacent land to his little exercise in free speech and take out a little equal time for his asshattery. I figure the time it takes to put up his bumper sticker philosophies may have ameliorated some of his messages (a little time to think before putting something in writing isn't a bad thing), but what gets up there is uniformly stupid.

I'm sure he doesn't consider farm subsidies an entitlement, or property tax abatements for agricultural land, or tax incentives for new business, or laying roads to new developments in the middle of nowhere. No, that's all free money that doesn't cost anyone anything.
