"John Pistole, head of the TSA, Screw You Buddy"...Keith Olbermann
He was ranting about that poor woman, 95 yrs of age having to remove an adult diaper. The TSA is out of control and this guy should be fired. You go Keith, excellent rant. Worst Person...Yes indeed.

1. Yes... Thank Gawd for someone calling them out on this BS
Edited on Mon Jun-27-11 07:56 PM by hlthe2b
Sadly, in about 10,9,8,7,6,5,4 seconds... we will have the usual small crowd of DUers coming to defend TSA and tell the rest of us that we must never fly and can't possibly know what they do--that there is no problem. :eyes:

2. That's because there isn't anything wrong with it.
They're doing their job, and that's to protect us.
Listen, I bet most of you would be pissing all over the place if a terrorist managed to bomb a plane, right?
Go through that shit, or be dead? Dead is dead, you know.

9. I believe the statistics are that you are at least several thousand times more likely to die from
a lightning strike than from a terrorist attack.

I'd prefer to take my chances and preserve my personal autonomy and dignity, then to submit to the paranoia and fear that enables the authoritarian National Security State.

The irony about what you are saying is blowing me over.... Mostly becouse the same persons who are defending TSA in most cases this days, was the same persons who was horrified about KGBs actions in the Soviet Union under the Cold war, and who was horrified about the fact that Europe had a berlin wall true the continent, who was guarded by a lot of guards, who was ordered to shot to kill if anyone wanted to leave.. And in fact, the borders between the Eastern Nations was also rather strict controlled, by national guards, and also by soviet union forces (specially by East Germany border)

Even tho the border guards of KGB, and the security apparatours of Soviet Union was little more strict than in current USA, it started out to defend the Soviets against enemies both internal and forreign.. The NKVD was used as a tool later, to control, and to arrest everyone who made "wrong desisions".. But it all started to protect Russia from enemies...

And that is the same thing that your TSA are doing today. And day for day, week for week, month for monts years for years, they are starting to control americans more and more, your "Private life" dosen't exist anymore.. Even your granny at 95 are not imune for been probed and loosing all dignety she might have in the quest to get an terrorist... What was imposible to imagine 30 year ago, is more and more common today in "the land of the free, the land of the brave":. US might managed to get Osama Bin Laden in the end. But by every good in the world, he managed to destroy US as we all know it, and loved it.. After 8 year with mr Bush, and then some years after, all what you once was taken for granted, is out.. You are just scared about everything and everyone.. Even a 90 year old granny are not outside the reatch of probing.. Osama Bin Laden won the game... He won becouse YOU let yourself be scared.. Once you had a president, who told you not to fear.. Today you accept probing, and misuse from your government in a way even Stalins nkvd would have troble been able to do after TSA... And the other tools of the "security apparatours".. Whatever "freedom" you still have, would be dead anytime soon, if you accept what you are given..

Oh wel, im sure the old granny was impressed by the guard, who tok his job so dillengenty that she had to remove her diaper to get true the security.. She must be impressed by it all I guess.. 95 year old, and more or less accused been a terrorist.. One thing is to make thing by the book, another thing is to use common sense, and to behave when you are around a 95 year old granny with posible less than a year of life...

Think about it, I was impressed by your welcome when I was wisiting your marvelous country when I was younger.. I was used to far stricter border crossing in Europe than in the US, where the custom guard was just looking at my passport, and then "welcome to USA" and thats that.. (i figure it was in 1991 or 1992) Today, when even a old granny is treated as a terrorist, I guess it exist other places to wisit then US.. Even with the higher standard of security that are around airports this days, it is many parts of the world, who are more welcome to visitors than US this days.. How many billions worth of dollars US have been losing the last decade becouse of TSA is untold, but I guess it is not a few bucks who have been going to other places..

Or did they think this was some brilliant PR move to shed the TSA in a good light?

10. Some people think that anything is justified to protect us from terrorists.
Up to an including taking away as many rights our benevolent and trustworthy government needs to take in order to keep us safe. What's the worst that could happen?

Just another day in the police state....

Originalpckelly - don't feed the lizard part of your brain.

Israel does NOT go through this screening cr@p at the airports and they have serious terrorist threats. All we are doing is making Cherthoff (sp?) rich with his screening machines.

24. If I were to admit my secret little fantasy...
It would be for John Pistole to be followed, wherever he goes, by crowds pelting him with adult diapers (new, sealed, of course)....

Can't advocate for that to happen, of course, but I think it is still legal to imagine, isn't it? :eyes:

25. K&R. Thank goodness Keith is speaking out for sanity, but ...
It would be nice if our party's leaders would do it instead of (or at least in addition to) a media figure.

But then, given all the (D) votes for the disastrously misnamed PATRIOT Act, I shouldn't be surprised.
