Even tweety gets it?!!!!
Edited on Tue Jun-28-11 08:42 PM by senseandsensibility
Those of you who know me, know that occasionally I watch tweety and post about how irritating he is. The last time I did this, a few days ago, a fellow DUer advised me to stop watching him. The fellow DUer was right to do so, and I haven't watched since.

HOWEVER....today, I tuned into Lawrence's show a minute or two early, and tweety was just finishing his "Let Me Finish..." speel (as if anyone has ever stopped him from finishing, but that's another story).

You know what tweety said? He said that the rich and powerful, who caused this recession and haven't been asked to sacrifice anything yet should pay to reduce the deficit. He said that clearly and simply. Well, actually, he yelled it.

President Obama, a person I have very little respect for gets it. He expressed it in a sentence or two. It was impossible to argue with his logic. President Obama, I do respect you. If tweety can do it, you can do it with one hand tied behind your back and no teleprompter.

Say this to the American people, and they will support you.

1. "and no teleprompter."

Sounds like something Sarah Palin would say.

I actually agree with most of your post, but I think it would be more effect without the republican talking point.

3. tongue in cheek
I certainly think Obama is a great communicator, and never said otherwise. The fact that Palin accuses him of using a teleprompter when all Presidents do, and she writes on her hand, is ridiculous.

5. We both sat in shock that tweety got it
Methinks, yes I am a tad more cynical than most, that tweety sent up a trial balloon

6. On Edit: I think I get what you're saying, but Tweety irks me.

Tomorrow he'll be licking Michele Bachmann's ass again.

9. I read what you wrote before you edited it,
and no hard feelings. It was/is your opinion and this is a discussion board. But thanks for reconsidering. I didn't mean to be condescending.:-)

11. Understand that Tweety has a habit of licking his fingers and holding it up in the air.
Tomorrow he'll be back to parroting GOP talking points. This is a guy who I often see in Bethesda, MD, one of the wealthiest D.C. suburbs. He doesn't want anyone to think that he's a Burkenstock-wearing, arugula-eating LIBRUAL!!

Tweety is disgusting!! :puke:

16. Exactly. He's been doing it for a long time now. He will go
completely opposite from one day to the next. Gotta keep those ratings up ya know.

7. Have any of you posting here called or written the White House?
And while you're at it, communicate with your congressional representatives, no matter if they're D or R. Don't just bitch here. Do it where it will make a difference. You know they consider every letter to represent 1000 people. Quit just posting and hand wringing and just do it.

I don't know if this is against the rules, but I don't care.

13. Why would it be against the rules?
Accuse away, and assume away. I think your words speak for themselves. I certainly won't defend myself or my activism to you with that attitude, but you're free to say what you want.

17. So I'll take that as a no on the calling or writing?
Otherwise, if you agree with me, why wouldn't you just say so. Further, as far as attitude, you might want to check the log in your own eye.

14. Or you could e-mail them -don't know if that's as effective but you can get
their e-mail address at Congress.org!

8. It was me. When you told me you weren't going to watch, I thought "good for you".
I didn't know that meant you just weren't watching hardball and not even waiting for it to completely end before tuning in to the show that comes on after it.

10. It really was an accident.
I think my clock is a minute fast, and I literally just caught the last couple sentences. But I was shocked that he made sense.

12. I always liked Chris Matthews. But hardball spends a lot of time airing clips of
rwingers. I don't really care what they have to say although when Tweety plays hardball with them, that's rather entertaining.
The show that comes on after it puts me to sleep.

15. I saw that...
and I said to my wife, "Why doesn't Obama say the same thing in simple language?"

I guess he has more important things to do than to spout such nonsense on TV?
