Yes, Michele Bachmann is running for president. Michele Bachmann, fundamentalist Christian zealot, paranoid isolationist, lowbrow conspiracy theorist, heavily shellacked automaton, anti-choice anti-gay anti-everything neo-Stepford throwback and easily the flat-out nuttiest female ever to raise a hugely depressing $13 million for her clumsy campaign launch, Michele wants to lead us all to salvation.

Well OK, not all of us exactly, mostly the whites and the rich and people who collect colorful black-light posters featuring sweaty, bare-chested Jesus riding a T-Rex into the Castro to smite the gays. But you know, that's nitpicking.

And why? Why on earth is she running? Because apparently certain key GOP advisers were partially sober just long enough to tell her, well, not that she actually has a shot, not that she can possibly make it past the second round of debates without imploding, but that she could, you know, "change the conversation." ...

They aren't looking for legitimate politicians. They're looking to destroy everything liberals have done since FDR. Why should they care who does it? They're probably financing all the Republicans who are running for office just to hedge their bets.

Bet hedging and all that you know.

She can be relied upon to follow the script and stay on message. She will do what she is told-unlike Palin who is toast.

that is what my husband (Republican) called her as he watched her on Faux News. "We need to eliminate the Minimum Wage to bring the economy back." He was ready to throw something at the TV at that point.

...it shows just how screwed this country has become. She's the byproduct of 30 yeras of dumbing down this society...the rise of arrogance and ignorance and this lady personifies it. If she's nominated, its because there's a large enough segment of this country's population that share her ignorance and overlook substance over rhetoric. Fortunately I don't see this as a majority of the American electorate, but the fact that there's a large segment of rushpublicans who are willing to send this country down the shitters shows the damage that's been done and it will be difficult to cure it.

We've got a tough row to hoe just to get back to square one.
