The present-day brand of conservatives have no committment to democracy.

Think about their level of support for government.

The Fed can do no wrong when their own are in charge.

Okay, yes, we can be like that, too. But how many of us on this side discuss "2nd Amendment remedies" when our side gets whomped in the electoral process? Sure, we may talk about impeachment and indictment, but those are all ways *within the system* to deal with the issues at hand.

Modern day 'baggers only use the system insofar as it will help them dismantle the system. Interestingly, that was a charge they leveled at the American left back in the 50s and 60s, so they're just projecting once again.

Ultimately, the new breed of American conservative is neither patriotic nor sensible and hates everything that America stands for, even while wrapping himself in the flag whose meaning he is helping to desecrate.

Americans IMO just think things will continue along fine.

Any argumentation or method to obtain it. If Conservatism is heart, mind, action and soul filled with this, the word itself is damned.

Conservatives have always been about reviving feudalism. When have they ever favored democracy?

For that matter, no commitment to conservatism.

all, and everyone, everyone (!) gets a vote, that they just can't pay lip service to it anymore, combined with the changing demographics of America, all bets were off. Their true nature came crawling out.

Taking down the country from the inside instead of from the outside. people better understand what is really going on here and stop allowing republicans to divide and split up the middle-class. Once they take down the institution of Democracy, there will be no going back.

No person or organisation who believes in conservatism can afford to believe in democracy.

True democracy, true representation of the will of the people, would deliver an almost entirely left wing political outcome in the United States, with curbs on corporate excess, sexual freedom and equality, and healthcare for all, free at the point of use, among others.

Furthermore, the demographic timebomb under conservatism make clear that this is their last generation. These are the last years when conservatives in the US are even close to electoraal success on the issues. They have to lie, they have to terrify, they have to suppress voters and ultimately they have to steal elections.

After this age, even those distortions will not enable them to suppress the inevitable victory of freedom in the US. Conservatives will be forced to overthrow democracy by force, or face the fact of the inevitable historic narrative of the relentless liberalisation of human society.
