Ozone Layer --
Was listening to Joe Papantonio the other day with a guest who was

saying the Ozone layer is in dire straights --

Here's the latest report I could find --

Anyone have anything better?

1. Clicking on the links from the EPA, it would appear that
the Ozone holes are actually getting smaller when compared with the average of the 1990s.

Still not good, but certainly not getting worse.

2. Don't think so ....

I haven't had time to get thru this link or look for others --

but beyond "holes" evidently there is much more overall damage.

Thought I was going to have time today to take a better look at this subject,

but it might have to wait --

And, do you recall the EPA which lied to us all about 9/11 pollution in NYC --

and the EPA which changed Global Warming scientists' reports to eliminate

negative statements about Global Warming?

3. Emissions of ozone depleting substances have diminished, although
there a some that aren't covered by the Montreal Protocol. So, stratospheric chlorine and (probably) bromine levels continue to drop. However, these gases have a long life in the the stratosphere, so a reasonably 'full' recovery of the ozone layer is decades away. It's moving in the right direction, though...

That EPA site has a lot, and you might find more at the UN page: http://ozone.unep.org/

4. In the Gore article in RS Magazine, he relates that 20% of the pollution we spew up into the sky ...
will still be there 20,000 years from now -- !!

Thanks for the UN info -- I'll save it -- and try to get back to this discussion

next week --

Obviously, news of the ozone layer has been disappeared ... for quite a few years now!!
