All about the sperm...
I have long wondered at the passion of anti-abortion men and have come to the conclusion that they cannot bear rejection of their "seed" even abstractly.

Whether a woman wants a baby; can care for a baby; or how the baby was conceived is not as important to them as their fatherhood. Not the real fatherhood of sacrifice and hard work that we can celebrate but the "fertilizing of an egg" fatherhood of primitive thinking. That leads to the equally primitive idea that if you kill my sperm you are killing me. Again it is all abstract and metaphorical but seems to be widely felt.

HOW DARE WE BE MORE THAN THEIR VESSEL TO IMMORTALITY!

I think that explains the men but I still have no idea why women support this stance. Why do women oppose so strongly others making rules about how they use their own bodies? I can only imagine some sore of Stockholm Syndrome or trying to identify with power.

Anyone?

1. Yes, it is all about the sperm. I think that's the basis for war as well.
Spread the sperm.

It's why men fight. It's the source of their desire to conquer.

2. See the film "Lake of Fire". It's about abortion in the US; among the topics covered is
the phenomenon of strongly anti-abortion men who have no women (partners) in their lives: Never married; those who were married but are no longer partnered, and men who are estranged from their own wives & children. There seem to be a lot of them in the movement.

3. Yes, it is all about sperm---
You are correct.

Here is my solution for the anti-abortion crowd.

Men who emit sperm irresponsibly must also have their "reproductive organs" governed by the state and feds.

Here is my proposal/amendment to anti-abortion bills:
A woman can only birth one child in any given year. A male can theoretically impregnate multiple women every day of every year, causing multiple unwanted pregnancies.
A woman who becomes impregnated under these circumstances is forced by law to bear 100% of the responsibility, up to and including suffering public scorn. A woman who chooses to abort suffers even more, but never the male who impregnated her.

So why not make a friendly amendment to these new strict abortion laws that include governance of Male reproductive organs as well?
It would definitely REDUCE some need for abortions, however small the percentage is.
If a female who comes forward declaring she was impregnated without her consent through irresponsible sperm emissions, the male must under-go a State and Federal Mandated vasectomy, pay for the DNA testing, pay a $25,000. fine to the both state and federal gov't for the unwanted pregnancy and be fully financially responsible for that (Each) child until graduation from College.

In the spirit of shared responsibility, it's only fair.

5. I have always thought the anti-choice people
completely oblivious to the notion that gametes were even alive.

My experience mostly is that the leaders of the movement are often (usually?) religious types who subscribe to the notion that life begins at conception.

Anti-abortion men thinking about living sperm takes speculation about cognition by that group into places I'd never considered possible.
