REPUKES: “We can move from cutting empathy to cutting humanity.”
From the Borowitz Report posted below:

Republicans: Trillions Could Be Cut from Budget if We Eliminate Empathy
Humanity Also on Chopping Block

Once congressional Republicans eliminate such empathy-laden budget items as lunches for poor children, medicine for the indigent and oxygen for seniors, Rep. Cantor said, “We can move from cutting empathy to cutting humanity.”

With humanity removed from the budget, he said, “That’s where the real savings come in.”

By eliminating the food, medicine and oxygen necessary to sustain human life, “We will reduce the single biggest drain on the U.S. economy: people.

2. Rec because I think this states how right-wingers think, EXACTLY. Rec because
I love the Borowitz in general and rec because maybe this will open some eyes and help people to really see how anti-humanity the right-winger agenda is.

They don't mind a few people (billionaires) hanging around - the rest of us, they want to DIE NOW. Make no mistake about it, that is their agenda. And the people who vote for them just don't see that yet.

5. Rightwingers and their Rethug representatives motto is personal responsibility
Regardless of whether anyone's inability to completely support themselves is/was a direct or indirect result of their own failings in life or not.

Most may believe in creationism over evolution, but the overwhelming majority of them are social/fiscal Darwinists nonetheless, and despite their hypocritically pious claims of being morally and patriotically superior to any other ideology, especially those that they consider to be leftwing "libruls".

Unfortunately, as the decades pass, they will become a smaller and smaller percentage of the US population, however, that fact obviously will not prevent Rethugs and their supporters from doing whatever is necessary to "take THEIR country" back, legally or illegally, and ensure that they overwhelmingly hold the reins of power in local, state and federal governments. They do not really want to "shrink" government inasmuch as they want it to become a primarily, or much better still a completely Rethug-led Judeo-Christian theocracy.

If tens of millions in the US must become homeless, ill, starving, and/or will ultimately and perish as a result of eliminating government services and programs, as well as privatizing virtually everything, with the exceptions of the military and the three branches of government, then that would be very "regrettable" but of course necessary, being somewhat similar to their attitude regarding those hundreds of thousands of innocents who have suffered or perished in Iraq and Afghanistan half a world away...occurring out of their sight and out of their "beautiful" minds.

Just like the loss of millions of US jobs to outsourcing and off-shoring over the past several decades, being "regrettable but necessary" which still continues largely unabated, and in spite of a Rethug being POTUS for ~2/3rds of those decades, and their so-called "free trade" "tax-cuts" and "trickle down/supply side" jobs-creating BS economic FAILURE theory.
