5. nixon was a very progressive president in hindsight

we have the epa and osha from his term just as a start
he gets a bad rap domestically
compared to todays democrats in general nixon was way off to the left
he was a deeply flawed man but many good things did come from his terms
i am not in any way excusing him for his foreign mistakes or his criminal activities just noting that by todays dem standards he would be an excluded left winger
