If a democrat and a republican fought an old-fashioned duel.....
Edited on Wed Jul-06-11 11:14 PM by spedtr90
If a republican and democrat fought a duel to settle their differences, the democrat would let the republican choose the day, the time, the weapon, and how many paces to walk before turning to fire. Then the republican would fire, but the democrat would not. The democrat would run toward the republican's bullet to be sure he was hit. Then he'd thank the republican for contributing that bullet to reach a solution.

1. Don't go insinuating Dole Queue Democrats are the same as Pete DeFazio, Ron Wyden or...
...the other actual Lefties in congress. Because they're not. They're on the corporate dole and what seems like stupidity is, in fact, an intentional sell-out to monied corporate interests.

2. figured I'd offend if...
...I just used Obama. My point is the party as a whole, following the president, is not effective in negotiating. I am expressing my disappointment in that. Singular fits the analogy. I stand by the analogy even though I greatly admire the progressive caucus and others. I am just very disappointed tonight.

5. I didn't catch that- thank you for the clarification. And also, I've noticed that I tend to...
..reply with a lot of heat, but it's not usually at the poster themselves, but at the idea or where I run with the idea when I think about it.

Anyway, I hear ya. Big time. We're not even into winter of 2011 and...this. I mean....ponder that. Just imagine what the fuck is going to happen over the time between now and next election. And then...if we're lucky...we get 4 more years of Obama.

Don't think about that for too long, though. It's like staring into the sun.

3. Also, by mutual consent the sun would be rising in our face at the time of the duel.

Let's just recognize history here; Democrats are just terrible brinksmanship because they believe Republicans have some sense of common interest or fairness. They need to realize we are dealing with predatory personalities.

4. The Dem would be dropped by a bullet to the head from the sidelines before the duel began
