Why do you dislike the Republican Party?
I dislike them because they start wars, cut social/education benefits, ignore environmental science, and they don't support everyone's civil rights.

Why are you concerned when Republicans win elections?

13. How is that possible?
Evil is pretty universal and not at all a buzzword. 'Evildoers'...on the otherhand, is a buzzword.

EVIL - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil

In case you need some help recognizing evil.

Abortion, gay marriage, free love, taxes, etc. They think these things are evil and destructive.

A really big difference is knowing the signs of evil...something Repukes are clueless on (or pretend to be). They 'embrace evil'...sorry if that doesn't make sense to you. It is just how the world works.

28. Neither side is right when it claims something is evil.
Evil is an opinion, like yummy or gross. Evil is a veil our minds place over situations, objects, or life forms. It's a reaction to stimuli.

Edited on Thu Jul-07-11 05:20 PM by Rex
Okay try this one out - by your line of reasoning, Adolph Hitler's idea of killing millions of Jews was just his opinion on how to fix Germany. Are you saying what he did was not evil? Is that your opinion, since there is no such thing as evil?

EDIT - I take it the cat has your tongue?

45. I mentioned delicious because it is another thing which is nothing more than a reaction to stimuli.
Evil, delicious, sexy, rude, etc., are all reactions based on opinions.

Our emotional reaction to the Holocaust is real, but our reactions are based on opinions. We hold the opinion that killing and torture of innocent people is repugnant.

Consider the nukes dropped on Japan during WWII. Some DUers think this was evil, and some think it was good. Neither side can prove its point because the killing of innocents is neither good nor evil.

42. Some say abortions are evil. Some say limiting abortions is evil. Both feel the opposite
side is embracing evil.

From your wiki link, and thank you for providing a link showing you are wrong:
"Evil is the intention or effect of causing harm or destruction, usually from the perception of deliberately violating some moral code. Evil is usually seen as the opposite of good. The philosophical question of whether morality is absolute or relative leads to questions about the nature of evil, with views falling into one of four opposed camps: moral absolutism, amoralism, moral relativism, and moral universalism."

And:
"In fact, many acts now considered evil have been termed as acceptable in some societies at different times."

Finally:
"Views on the nature of evil tend to fall into one of four opposed camps:
Moral absolutism holds that good and evil are fixed concepts established by a deity or deities, nature, morality, common sense, or some other source.<6>
Amoralism claims that good and evil are meaningless, that there is no moral ingredient in nature.
Moral relativism holds that standards of good and evil are only products of local culture, custom, or prejudice.
Moral universalism is the attempt to find a compromise between the absolutist sense of morality, and the relativist view; universalism claims that morality is only flexible to a degree, and that what is truly good or evil can be determined by examining what is commonly considered to be evil amongst all humans. Author Sam Harris notes that universal morality can be understood using measurable (i.e. quantifiable) metrics of happiness and suffering, both physical and mental, rooted in how the biology of the brain processes stimuli.<7>"

I hate repukes because they embrace evil...if you cannot understand then that is your problem. 'Evil' is universally recognized by every earthling, get a grip.

EDIT - I too could embolden certain words like USUALLY, so nice try but you are arguing about something everyone usually agrees upon.

It'd be a much shorter list to say what I don't hate about them.
.
.
.
Don't rush me.
.
.
.

The expectation that government money should be spent prudently is a good ethical framework. That they implement this basic principle ineptly and in the service of evil is a different matter.

Sorry. That's as good as I can do.

"personal responsibility" = "No taxes for me" ...sucks.
"valuing life" = "War, capital punishment for trivial crimes and allowing businesses to kill for profit" ...sucks.
"freedom of speech" = "Speech that I agree with, no matter how much it costs some media company to give it to me" ...sucks.
"welfare queens" = "poor people that aren't starving" ...sucks
"patriotism" = "all talk and no action" ...sucks

Deference to authority, incuriosity, "faith" as distinct from "thinking", politics and even war as a sporting event, greed, selfishness, simple-mindedness all suck.
