WaPo - "Grover Norquist: Obama using debt ceiling debate to expand government"
Edited on Wed Jul-13-11 10:36 PM by TomCADem
I guess our Tea Party lurkers will be happy to hear from their leader, Grover Norquist:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/blogpost/post/grover-norquist-obama-using-debt-ceiling-debate-to-expand-government/2011/07/13/gIQApfQ2CI_blog.html

Grover Norquist, the president of the anti-tax Americans for Tax Reform, does not think much of President Obama’s debt talk.

In a chat with Washington Post readers Wednesday, Norquist said Obama is using the national debt ceiling debate as an excuse to expand government through taxation.

* * *
Norquist called for a limited government whose obligation was only to “oppose others from initiating force against you.”

He also showed little patience for information he believed to be false and arguments he believed to be unsound.

“How can you continue to support a no tax increase policy when there are obviously very good reasons to increase taxes with reduced government spending? Your hardline position does not seem to be in the best interest of this nation and the majority of its people,” one reader asked.

“Thank you for your comments,” Norquist answered. “You are wrong.”

7. Does that field elf not get that the job numbers are shitty . . .
. . . due to state and local layoffs by fascist RepubliGovs (306,000 in less than a year)?

So wouldn't that mean his little bathtub-drowning beat-off scenario is coming true . . . under a Democratic administration?

Does he also get that some of the biggest government expansion happened under Reagan and Bewsh II? I'd like him to tell someone "they're wrong" on those two very true tidbits.

9. There are three parties at the table: the Democrats, Grover's rich/corporate masters and
the teabaggers. I'm beginning to think it was a good the the Koches did by funding the teabaggers. It gave us a party that puts debt before tax cuts.... a party that would try and push that on the gop. So they can now start attacking each other and we Democrats can just sit back and relax!!

14. Norquist is the prick ...
They (the seemingly Cantor-led House leadership) are beholden to. Boehner is now irrelevant--persona-non grata among the crazies.

Now the President is throwing some elbows, and turning this into the street fight it needs to be.

Fuck these Tea party pricks (pardon the language--but I'm pissed and have had enough) but the President should go on National television and make his case and let the Reptilicans explain why they won't raise taxes on millionaires to generate revenue, why THEY want to gut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security--and how we're gonna hold the line and stop them dead cold from accomplishing these economically traitorous proposals.
