Anyone else feel like Lawrence O'Donnell is lecturing you?
The guy is smart and knows his stuff but I feel like he is lecturing me and basically acting like I am too stupid to think for myself.
The last two nights he said that Clinton reduced SS and medicare benefits and liberals were fine with it but now us liberals are complaining about it. Made it sound like we were really out of line for complaining about it
I think I have had enough of him for a while.
I usually watch him and ten watch Keith on DVR. I think maybe Keith live would be more productive.

3. Lawrence is very impressed with Lawrence and it gets old.
His point of view is selective as is his memory. He is a former Beltway type who is so enthralled with the process that he forgets that the result is all that really matters. He reminds me of a stats happy sports fan. Dull sauce.

16. That is almost exactly what dh and I've been saying for awhile now re Lawrence.
Tonight was over the top.

I liked him so much when he was first on air, but as the months have ground on, his grinding on like this is simply not compelling news.

He speaks at times as though speaking to idiots about something that only he and his elite can comprehend, and does so too slowly, with too many repetitions. He could said the same thing tonight, much more compressed and had an impact. As it was, I found him to be acting like a bore, and I turned it off until Rachel came on. He used to seem to have intelligence, but now he seems like a one trick pony droning on and on and on. Very disappointing to us.

I don't know why he has changed a bit, but it isn't for the good, jmho.

5. Someone likened his delivery to Howard Cosell's. Now that I've said that- listen to him.
It was a great comparison, IMO.

Or maybe I date myself mentioning Howard Cosell?

6. Well then. I will be watching O'Donnell every night. One of the best journalists around.
BTW, O'Donnell is an avowed Socialist. Why would the far left set not support him? Can it be that when one sees truth, despite one's political leanings, it is disturbing to those that cling to fallacy and impractical rhetoric?

Almost made me puke, but that is his choice, however misguided.

13. For a self proclaimed "socialist"
He sure comes off like a DLC apologist hack sometimes (like tonight).

He's nearly as bipolar as Tweety. Sometimes you want to applaud, other times you want to throw a brick at the screen.

12. Lawrence like most eltes, have the image that we roll over easily
or that we really do not matter. The President can
count on our money and votes.

I am not being mean when I say elite. The Media, the Fourth
Estate is part of the Elite in this country.

If you go back to the Clinton Presidency, the blogs,
the Websites, the Internet was not nearly so active.
They did not pay so much attention to us back then.

Perfect Example: If you believe him, he said that until
this year, they had no idea of Grover Norquists Starve
the Beast. In early Bush Adm. Democrats . Com was
writing volumes on this with quotes from his speeches.
Late 90s and early 2000s. It is only now the Elite Media
apparently caught on. It is difficult for me to understand
how they missed it, but they apparently did.

Now the Internet has grown, Liberals and Progressives have
become much more outspoken. Once again Lawrence and Friends
have missed the fact that Liberals and Progressives were
disgusted with Clinton's Nafta, his repeal of Welfare and
yes--even I have ranted here often how Democrats have
robbed SS and cut Medicare. Having been disgusted with Clinton
for Obama to come along and be ready to cut even more, IS A
BRIDGE TOO FAR. It is too much another President ready to
sell us out.

I do not think he means to lecture. As usual, the Media
expect us Liberals to lie down and roll over. This is
what we have done in the past. It is not smart of him.

I like Lawrence's Program.

26. I turned off O'Donnell after his first night
His speech delivery is grating and he's a shill for the neoliberal powers-that-be. I read that the 8PM slot has lost 20% of the viewers from Keith Olberman's old show. O'Donnell won't win them over.

The only time I tune into The Last Word is when Chris Hayes is the host. Chris is a better host than O'Donnell.

My BS meter works --

Maybe you were confused by my comment that I've never watched him --

That doesn't mean that when he followed Rachel or Schultz I didn't hear a

few of his comments --

And what is it that you find so admirable about O'Donnell?

like the smartest guy in the room. If people can't figure out you're smart, telling them is a dead loss. It's better to let folks discover that on their own.

38. I enjoy Lawrence's Show
I watch him at 8 and catch Keith at 11 EST. He is passionate and often is able to tie in his former experience as an aide to broaden my understanding of a topic. His statement about Clinton was accurate. I consider myself a liberal but do not think that Medicare and the other entitlements should be totally off the table.
