Kucinich ROCKS!
Edited on Fri Jul-15-11 09:44 PM by sheldon
Truly one of the very few in Washington that truly care about the truth.
He just wrote a great article here http://kucinich.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=251883 about the "debt theater".

6. Sad. Kucinich is a REAL Democrat.
Who tells the truth, and has OUR best interests at heart. He doesn't seem to be owned like most of the rest of Washington is.
The fact that this man is not our president right now, saddens me.

8. Kucinich must have really struggled with his conscience after he...
Edited on Fri Jul-15-11 09:52 PM by The Big Vetolski
voted for the Health Insurance Corporation Enrichment Act of 2010(aka the ACA) in exchange for keeping some federal jobs in his district, probably NASA, according to my sources whom I will not name.

And his conscience won. He's speaking truth to power once again.

The Teabaggers are right for the wrong reasons. Bring on the debt default, I say, though I seriously doubt it will be allowed to happen.

Dennis is also right in questioning the validity of our current two party system. Most people know it is not working. Why do you think so many don't vote? And many of those who do so do it resignedly.

This is not healthy, people.

36. DK is a true Democrat that's why he'd be isolated should he ever become President
and that won't help progressive causes, either.

Democrats in Congress, who are giving President Obama such a hard time - and he's not nearly as liberal as DK - will NOT allow DK to do a single thing. In fact, like they did with Dean, they'll railroad him and his policies the moment he presents them, effectively neutering him and progressive causes instantaneously.

People need to face the facts. As long as we have this crop of Democrats in Congress, President Obama is about as liberal as we can hope for.

Edited on Sat Jul-16-11 10:17 AM by felix_numinous
because he was 'unelectable' and he saw a UFO and they make fun of the way he looks......

The dismissal of this man is DIRECT evidence of how propaganda has been used most effectively against the left!! How else would a man with a voting record as clean and completely in line with us not make it to the presidency??? i NEVER once heard ONE reason why he should not be leading this country. But Murdoch, Rove and other jedi master wizards did their magic and--poof-said he is unelectable and then it BECAME SO.

Apparently it just takes an ill timed scream(Dean), embarrassing meme, virtual sex, or an awkward moment to erase a person's life work. We have to stop falling for this shit.

Every time I see this man I have to restrain myself from ranting, and this morning I was not successful.

Peace~~~

21. ...AND, may little timmeh russert ROT in HELL...
...for what he did to Kucinich during the "debates".
Kucinich was the ONLY "Democrat" on the stage offering anything different on policy to the Democratic Party,
and instead of letting Kucinich tell the American people that "Medicare for ALL is not only possible, but cheaper"
little timmeh followed his orders and made it about Flying Saucers,
and so did too many here at DU.

I owe them no loyalty, and they have no influence over me or my policies.”

23. He is becoming such a rare species in DC.
They can't tolerate even one honest person in that poisoned atmosphere.

I love his clarity. Imagine if everyone got on TV and spoke as he does to the people, without patronizing them, the public WOULD be informed.

Maybe if Murdoch's Empire collapses we will begin a return to real journalism and people like Kucinich will the ones we hear most often, instead of the usual Wall St. Shills.

It's clear that the pro-Obama crowd at DU is squashing all dissent.

Good points in the article, by the way. If only he (or anybody else for that matter) had any good ideas on how to get more than 5% of elected officials to support his points. Because the things being done clearly aren't working.

Ah, the good old DU,
The New deal, The Fair Deal, The Great Society, Equal Rights and Equal Protections, support for the Working Class, LABOR, and The Poor.
Man, I MISS those days.

Who will STAND and FIGHT for THIS American Majority?
You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses.

26. Imagine a real Democratic majority that think and believe like DK in both houses.
And Bernie Sanders or DK as President. Elizabeth Warren as head of the CFPB and running it with unbridaled authority.

Reason, imagination, intelligence, sanity, logic, honesty, talent, foresight, insight, transparency, compassion, and integrity driving a highly effective democratic government dedicated to improving every aspect of the human condition in the US.

Envision it.

So sorry to rip this lovely dream from your imagination, but

Now, contrast this with the corporatist Dem--republican coalition that actually exists.

It's something like the difference between heaven and hell, isn't it?

37. Think back to 2008
They wouldn't even let him into the debates let alone on the ballot, let me dream for a moment here; what if Dennis Kucinich had become our President, would we still be in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Libya, and soon Iran, would we be looking at a debt crisis, would we be facing cuts to all of our social programs? I think not.
