News Corp executives 'push for Murdoch succession plans'
News Corp's independent directors are pushing for Rupert Murdoch to clarify plans for his succession as they move to separate the media mogul's UK problems from the company's US business.

According to executives close to the company, who spoke anonymously, independent News Corp executives have told Murdoch he needs to move quickly to allay shareholder fears that the hacking scandal will spread to the US business.

News Corp's News International stable of UK newspapers, including the now closed News of the World, represents a small part of the media firm's business. News Corp also owns the Fox TV network and 20th Century Fox film studio.

The phone-hacking scandal has already wiped billions off News Corp's value. Shares fell again on Monday as shareholders sold out on the first day of trading following news that former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks had been arrested over the weekend.

Soros could buy in, that would be a riot.

My guess is that the Saudi Prince will be running it from now on, unless he gets arrested too.

6. If the Saudi Prince bails
News Corp is toast right along with Murdoch. Dumping that much stock would devastate share prices, and Murdoch has already blown a lot of dough doing stock buy backs to try to stop the bleeding (which doesn't appear to have worked, either).

4. Why bother - loot the office supplies, turn off the lights and lock the doors
The world will be a better place without News Corp.

5. No, nor succession! Let it sink like the Titanic!
If the Obama administration is smart, it will seize this opportunity to destroy every shred of this organized crime network. This is a golden opportunity. Now is the time, and it may not come again!!!

8. Murdoch living is not going to change anything
don't they get it.

This attitude of switching places to quell the noise is not going to
work on this one.
