Gang of Six --- Now we're even borrowing from China in our political discourse
Edited on Wed Jul-20-11 01:46 PM by Armstead
The term for these Congressional "gangs" are a direct knockoff of a phrase that first emerged in China during the Cultural Revolution.

The Gang of Four was used to label a clique of four leaders who led the Cultural Revolution in China, but were later put on trial for excessive zeal that led to social chaos.

Maybe it is an appropriate phrase after all.

1. Hey, we have our own history here: Al Copone's gang, street gangs, ...
gang-bangers. C'mon, we have always had a good vocabulary for criminal elements like the current crime gang of six.
