That little-sister-of-the-poor, Jesus-like Laura INGRAHAM "victim" of $11K jewelry theft
Edited on Thu Jul-21-11 10:31 AM by UTUSN
So many ironies in this item, starting with its medium (Rupert's NY Post), then how she is just SO Jesus-like ever since her conversion to the NOVAKula-GINGRICH-FBIspy branch of Catholicism (Opus Dei, anybody?!1), and she has access to Pope Ratz!1 And she's the champion of VICTIMS!1 The medal she hawks, supposedly for the Little Sisters of the Poor, who replied to me that they don't know who she is, goes for $49.95, but the one she really likes is $2000. There are more, but I don't want to hog.

Wait, *what*!1 Her "neighbor" lent her most of the haul, so the "neighbor" would be the real victim, not her!1 And actually, the oh-so-smart INGRAHAM was not that swift in packing all the good stuff in one, easy location.

Laura Ingraham says $11,000 in jewelry was stolen from her checked baggage

By PHILIP MESSING

.... The most significant loss, she said, was her $2,000 22-carat, gold baptismal cross that she purchased at the Vatican -- an item she's worn almost daily for the past nine years, since she became a Catholic, which had "great sentimental value."

Other items included a Judith Ripka-designed yellow gold necklace valued at $950 and a triple-strand, yellow-gold necklace by Italian designer Marco Bicego valued at $1,800.

All the jewelry, except the cross, were loaned to her by a neighbor to use on her book tour... ....

She said a Continental customer-service employee in Newark had the nerve to tell her that she shouldn't have put jewelry in her bag in the first place.

"Blaming the victim is also a really lovely way to deal with the flying public," she said. ....

2. Reality check!
I've heard for decades you do NOT put valuables in checked luggage. The vast majority of people are honest but it only takes one...

4. wouldn't it have been better to fed ex or UPS that stuff to her next location? I mean, you can get
insurance and everything. I don't travel, but I have heard that people do that all the time.

5. Who in their right mind puts valuables in checked bags??????
My humble jewelry stash, worth perhaps $250 on a GOOD day, goes in a ziploc bag in my carryon and never leaves my sight or gets more than 5 ft from me.

7. She now plays a Vestal Virgin, but back in the 80's, when she worked for Reagan ...
she was a notoriously easy lay around the DC bar scene. I have personally seen her shit-faced drunk at the Tombs, swapping spit at the bar with a variety of guys, before settling on one to leave with.

across barroom floors, holding a gun to the head of ex-boyfriends who dumped her, ridiculing disabled people, and outing/persecuting Gays, but HEY!1 Converting wipes the slate clean, no?!1

But the thing I have obsessed about ever since she converted has been my quest to SEE HEAR any shred of change of tone towards Jesus-like spirituality, tone, or largeness of spirit. 'course, it ain't ours to JUDGE, now...

9. Ahhhhhh....poor Laura the Victim
If she's stupid enough to put her jewelry in checked bags, she's got to deal with the consequences. I don't feel one bit sorry for her and I guess she'll have to get a new & improved, more blinged out jeebus icon. My guess is she won't suffer too much....
