I was reminded why I don't watch Sunday chat shows....
Edited on Sun Jul-24-11 10:01 AM by WCGreen
It is just bleating on both sides, reiterating what they have said for years...

Why don't they stop having political people giving their talking points and go out and actually report the conditions that will happen if the debt ceiling isn't lifted?

It's too easy, I guess, to sit inside a studio and pretend you are actually committing journalism if all you do is read a few newspapers and talk to the usual suspects.

2. Actually, it's pretty much bleating on one side at this point.

12. Don't you know that only the middle class and, when feeling generous, the working
class that count? Everyone else are 'useless eaters' to the majority of both parties politicians. Sometimes I miss Bobolink!

3. Are they telling Americans that we will lose $200 million in revenue
from ticket excise taxes for each week that the FAA appropriations bill lies fallow and unextended?

13. Shhhhh! I just saved just over $100 in taxes on two upcoming trips. Still
trying to finalize the third trip so I can get tickets cheaper. Just a few days is all I ask!

I've tuned in because of the media-hyped blockbuster or bombshell that was going to crack the DC political world wide open.

Nothing ever happens. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

9. When you know what they're going to say...
Before they even say it...

And your own ideas far outstrip theirs...

That's why you don't watch those Sunday chat shows.

11. The corproate dems they put up are bleating just as well as the
so-called main street conservatives.

Sherrod Brown or Bernie Sanders are hardly ever on.

Some ass hats fro Virginia, people who live around the beltway.

14. I caught a small portion of MTP and wanted to go outside and knock my head on a rock.
The teabagger Congressman from Illinois made a statement comparing the almost paltry (by today's standards)deficit in 2007 to today's massive deficit. Crickets. None of the panelists or David Gregory reminded him that 2 wars were being kept off the books in 2007. Since then I've been wondering if the Congressman was spewing partisan talking points or if he's really that uninformed.

21. I unfortunately caught a few minutes of Amanpour's round table.
Alice Rivlin gave an incredibly weak performance against Will and some Fox tool. Arianna H. was making the point that businesses are sitting on trillions and not hiring. The tool blamed uncertainty and that businesses weren't hiring due to the fear of increased taxes and Rivlin just sat there! The tool even paused, everyone else was quiet waiting for her to rebut, and she said nothing! Somebody off the street could have done a better job--I was amazed at how poorly she did.

16. this is my frustration --who cares what those people think? they aren't experts
they report only on their very limited optics.

i once tweeted to David Gergen asking him what was the purpose of him going on Piers Morgan to talk about the economy. Was he an economist?

Had he ever held an economic position?

No, he's a pundit, albeit with some insider experience in a few administrations --but he was being interviewed on the economy.

:wtf:
