FUNDAMENTALISM is the problem. EXTREMISM is the problem. Fundamentalist extremist conser
conservatives are the problem. For example, tea partiers. Or McVeigh. Or Breivik. Or the whole bush cabal. Or senators who automatically vote against something not put forth by "their" party. Extremism. Fundamentalism. Bah to them.

1. Strongly disagree. It's the "moderates" that are at fault.
They are what empower and legitimize the fundamentalists and extremists.

5. And those moderates, they pull right with greasy ease
which is what legitimizes the extreme nuts. They are the part of the problem that is the catalyst.

14. Truth. Otherwise they'd be reduced to being a derided, fringe group of idiots.
Some stupid peckerwoods decided that they needed the input of a bunch of Dark Agers ginned up by rich Reich wingers and partisan neocon hacks.

The Teabaggers are not numerous as is portrayed at times nor are they significantly different than the regular Republicans other than arguably being too stupid to know the source of their gravy train.

9. Thom Hartmann was just saying majority of violent groups are RW "Christian" -- !!
Edited on Mon Jul-25-11 05:02 PM by defendandprotect
Guess we recognized back when the civil rights movements began that

"equality for all" didn't work for rw Christians -- and that if they

wanted to reverse things, they'd have to move to a new militancy --

There were rumors long ago of covert Christian attacks on Muslims -- but

didn't think that the whole US government would be put into play killing

1 million Muslims in Iraq!!

We also have the Unconstitutional insanity of W Bush having moved taxpayer

money into the hands of religion's "faith based" organizations.

Fortunately, for the Vatican -- and rather coincidentally -- Bush came along

with the funds when they needed it most to pay off their pedophile priest

lawsuits.

And, btw, Obama has not only continued to give our tax dollars to religions

but he's increased the funding!!

12. Which, of course, is not what I said ....
However, I will agree with your statement, as well --

Though I will say that we have no idea what the Vatican may actually be involved

in with its great wealth -- and, imo, being influenced by CIA for decades now?

Male supremacy isn't either exactly a left wing notion ---

and Christianity is essentially organized patriarchal religion which over two

thousand years has existed to cement patriarchy -- it is the underpinning for

patriarchy.

Patriarchy -- and its underpinning =

Organized patriarchal religion -- and its economic invention =

Capitalism =

The Unholy Trinity

8. Agreed. =(
Unfortunately, there are an increasing number of liars out there, mainly on YT, but probably elsewhere as well(thankfully not here on DU, though) who are blaming this on the Mossad or a 'Zionist cabal', etc.
