We are robbing old people, children and poor people to pay a debt that was run up by republicans for wars. These are the people we are supposed to protect, not prostitute.

How are we going to sleep at night if we allow this to happen?

For those that say that the SS checks will stop in the event of a shutdown...that will be more temporary than the fixes that they are throwing out there.

When the elderly, poor, and children are suffering....the banksters will be suffering too.

I suppose a default is the closest we will get to shared sacrifice...because it certainly looks like a deal will be born solely on the backs of those least able to fight back.

2. They will keep coming back for more.
That is how blackmailers work. It never ends until you are broke and they destroy you.

3. i share your emotion.
I want to vote D to keep a decent supreme court. But, if I can email, call and write, and still we get deals that slash SS and M, and no revenue increases (taxes on the rich), I just want to give up. It doesn't seem to matter. I know we have to wait and see what the final deal is, but really, I am just sick thinking about it.

i always hear that you have to compromise to get the mushy middle, but, while Dems need the middle to win, they need us, as well.

5. Even when they had the majorities the democrats had problems. IMO the
democrats were their own worst enemy during health care. That, was very disappointing.

4. Not to worry... NRA has our health care, SS, and retirement needs
all planned out.... Sorry for the grim insinuation, but frankly, I don't think a lot of nasty-assed RETHUGS would care if desperate old and sick people and suffering poor found solace in such a horrific 2nd amendment solution. I am terrified that we will return to the grim days of the Middle Ages or at least Dickensonian times when the rich had everything and the poor only misery.

A shared dose of "half full" optimism would be welcome right now....

6. The thing is that when people feel they have nothing else to lose
then they turn violent because that is the only course that they see left to them.
The 2nd may come back and bite them

7. That's what they want, a "return to the grim days of the Middle Ages or at least
Dickensonian times." And what I find absolutely amazing is some Americans poor and with nothing assist them in this goal. It just gets so F'ed up words just fail to describe how some people basically want to fall on their own sword for the republicans. Sadly, I don't think we're seen anything yet as to where the US is headed.

8. Default Would be a Total Victory for the Teabaggers. That is their Goal
They are even betting on it financially.

The programs that we fear they will cut would certainly be disrupted (if not ended entirely) by a default.
Then we would be in an even weaker position attempting to get funding for them again, as their shutdown
would be a fait acomplit.

That is why the teabaggers won't make a deal to avoid default. Default is their objective.

15. Reverse Robin Hood. Take from the poor to give to the rich. Repukes hate Robin Hood too!
We don't gain anything. That's the plan. The people lose. Corporations win. It's not 'our' country anymore.

I would love someone to explain what their Grand Plan is after they have destroyed all the people, all the jobs, after all the infrastructure has crumbled, small businesses die and there's NOTHING left of this country....what exactly do they plan to do with the remains?

when, in reality, he was speaking to Wall Street and the Banksters.
